2022 HYBRID 2.5L Maverick. First time doing an oil analysis so I have no previous reports to compare to. Previous engine oil used was Kirkland Synthetic 0w-20 and Purolator One oil filter. Decided to go with a more premium oil with Liqui-Moly Molygen and do an oil analysis on it.

Oil used: Liqui-Moly Molygen 0w-20
Oil Filter: Motorcraft FL910S
Oil has been ran from: 11/16/2023 and changed at 6/21/2024
Mileage on oil: 11,487 miles @ 8% oil life remaining

First time using Molygen and results look really good. Molygen seems to quiet down the engine a bit (but that just might be me justifying paying a premium on an oil lol). Slight improvement in MPG (1 to 2 mpg improvement).

No towing, mostly highway driving in Southern California traffic, and light cargo for service calls.

That sure looks like your engine is well worn in now, and is in prime condition. Clearly you don't need to change the oil on a hybrid until at least when the computer says so, and can very reasonably go way past the recommendation of when it tells you to change it.
Am I reading that right? Liqui-Moly oil has less molybdenum in it than the industry average?

Noticed in this report the viscosity isn’t low, compared to other reports viewed here. And it’s the 0w-20 stuff.

Hi Richard, et all,

I looked at some YouTube videos on this product and came away impressed with the quieter motor sound plus improved fuel mileage. Heading over to their website I noticed that the Maverick wasn't listed, so I requested additional information. Here is what I got back from Liqui-Moly:
For your 2024 Maverick our Molygen New Generation SAE 0W-20 is the best option, this top-class motor oil has the latest API SP performance and is ideally suited for the use in your 2.5 engine.

Our Molygen New Generation motor oils are our top-of-the-line products for American and Asian gasoline vehicles and based on our Special Tec AA oils, but already contain an additional added, unique additive formulation (MFC) for excellent wear protection. The formulation is well balanced and works with a synergetic effect for perfect chemical wear protection and surface smoothing.

To further improve the efficiency of your Fords we also recommend you the following:

Use our Pro-Line Engine Flush at the next oil change. It will remove dirt, sludge, carbon etc. from the inside of the engine which will help the new oil to perform as best as possible from the beginning on. Further it will also remove carbon build up at the piston ring groves which will allow the rings to float freely and raise compression. A very effective way to extend the life of any engine, to optimize the oil consumption and to improve performance. For preventive maintenance we recommend using Pro-Line Engine Flush at every 2nd - 3rd oil change.

To maintain the sensitive fuel system of your engine we recommend you using our DIJectron as preventive fuel treatment regularly every around 2400 miles. DIJectron is a unique combination of state-of-the-art LIQUI MOLY additives, developed in order to keep clean and protect the sensitive fuel system of modern, direct fuel injected (GDI) engines. By using DIJectron, the risk of an LSPI event caused by deposits on the injectors and in the combustion chamber is significantly reduced. It will further optimize fuel consumption and increase engine efficiency.

Please review the links below for product information and application instructions :

We hope we could help you with our information. Should you have further questions regarding our products don´t hesitate to contact us again.

I sure hope nobody is dumb enough to actually use an engine flush. This guy just ruined their reputation with that crap statement. While flushing the engine, you are effectively running the engine with no oil. Think about it...

I'm hoping most of the moly in Liqui-Moly is coating the internals of the engine instead of just floating in the oil 😅 ..hence the lower levels. Next oil analysis will show if that is true or not (went with Molygen again with recent oil change). Did some research as well and there may be different moly compounds and less new moly is needed to achieve the same protection. No idea if true though, the internet has too much information sometimes.

Honestly, I wouldn't go with longer oil intervals if using cheaper budget synthetic oils. My Hybrid did burn off some oil when using the Kirkland oil. Did NOT burn off any oil using Molygen. I checked oil levels when using Kirkland every 3k miles and it burned off a little bit and I had to top off when using Kirkland. Did not have to top off when using Molygen. I do trust all synthetic oils to protect the engine during long intervals but I don't trust that all synthetic oils will be 100% still at the same levels during a long interval. Frequently check your oil levels if doing long intervals.

I thought about it and then read the instructions on how to do an engine flush. You add engine flush to the engine oil before an oil change. So you're adding the engine flush to the old oil already inside your engine and the flush removes deposits from your engine into your old oil. You drain old oil and remove old oil filter and refill using new oil and replace oil filter.

Wait, did you think you had to drain your old oil and then run your engine with the engine flush only... its only 500ml, that's less than a quart... no, wait, you add water right?

My takeaway is the on-board oil change system works well and no reason to deviate from it. Also I did see a Project Farm video comparing oils and the Motorcraft oil did very well compared to top mainstream oils.

Anyone know what the Ford dealers use for the oil change on the Maverick or does it vary with the dealer?
