I picked up my Mav. in 05/24 with a brand new replacement battery from a factory recall. Now in 11/24, 5600 miles, It lost power, and the battery died 2x in 3 days (I triggle charged it once and it went for 2 days, then died again). I had to call Ford roadside assistance to tow the vehicle to a Ford dealer, and after 3 days, its diagnostics conclusion was a dead battery, and Ford replaced it again.
This morning, I put the vehicle ready in drive mode, while still in Park, the engine started up and charged the battery(<5 min). Another dead battery on its way? From this forum, some blamed the constant software update and wifi connections that may be draining the battery, which has a cold crank capacity of 450 Amp. I now use the 4.5 screen interface setting to disable automatic software update, after I scanned and brought the system up-to-date. Then turn off all: wifi data, insurance data communication (no need to pull fuse #12 as one suggested), disable auto light on and will do them manually in the future. Just in case I bought a Black Friday special lithium car jumper with an air pump. I do not want it happen again, but ...
BTW, in this forum, many suggested to replace the battery with an AGM from Amazon for $111, the user showed an elaborate procedure and tools necessary to replace the battery. I found the whole battery compartment can be removed and easily access all the bolts that held the battery in place. Happy Holidays.
