I picked up my Mav. in 05/24 with a brand new replacement battery from a factory recall. Now in 11/24, 5600 miles, It lost power, and the battery died 2x in 3 days (I triggle charged it once and it went for 2 days, then died again). I had to call Ford roadside assistance to tow the vehicle to a Ford dealer, and after 3 days, its diagnostics conclusion was a dead battery, and Ford replaced it again.
This morning, I put the vehicle ready in drive mode, while still in Park, the engine started up and charged the battery(<5 min). Another dead battery on its way? From this forum, some blamed the constant software update and wifi connections that may be draining the battery, which has a cold crank capacity of 450 Amp. I now use the 4.5 screen interface setting to disable automatic software update, after I scanned and brought the system up-to-date. Then turn off all: wifi data, insurance data communication (no need to pull fuse #12 as one suggested), disable auto light on and will do them manually in the future. Just in case I bought a Black Friday special lithium car jumper with an air pump. I do not want it happen again, but ...
BTW, in this forum, many suggested to replace the battery with an AGM from Amazon for $111, the user showed an elaborate procedure and tools necessary to replace the battery. I found the whole battery compartment can be removed and easily access all the bolts that held the battery in place. Happy Holidays.

I bought 12 batteries from Costco and wired them all up inline mounted in the truck bed so I don't experience these problems until they all fail - probably good for a year or two
I doubt that will work very well. Instead, all 12 batteries will not be properly charged and all 12 will sulphate at the same rate as a single battery and fail at the same time. That's also going to mess up your fuel economy with all that dead weight.

3 Maverick Hybrids and no issues.
2 Hybrids and no issues. Deep Sleep happens often, but never did they fail to immediately start. No trickle charger either.

My 12V battery is being replaced today under warranty................22XLT hybrid, 32Kmiles.
Is there anything I need to do or make sure the dealership does after they install the new battery?

They should reset the BMS to date the new battery...but you can do this yourself if they don't. Search the forums for the method.

I found the procedure in the manual for the battery sensor reset, wondering if I have to leave it parked for 8 hours in addition to doing the reset procedure?

Yes, you do.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Picked up the truck after work
Service mgr said that I didn’t need to do either of the resets? I noticed that all the radio presets were still there and the seat belt chime was still deactivated. Thought for a minute that they did nothing, but checked the battery when I got home and it has an October 2024 mfg date.

Did they have it for over 8 hrs?
You are hoping they locked it for that time, as a required part of process.

If they didn't even have it long enough (count the non-working time before bringing it in, checking time, replace time - was there even 8 hrs left?), then they aren't aware of the process, and not sure I'd trust them on the BMS reset either.

They used a setting maintainer - normal now to do just what you saw.

There are no constant software updates - the infotainment system may check once a day if you had auto-updates enabled and wifi enabled. It connects and drops pretty quick after shutoff, if it sees wifi and it has login too.
But good call disabling as nothing is going to happen there anyway so no need for some battery drain.

Now - truck connecting to ATT network is another matter - does it have decent ATT cell network where it's usually at?
Bad or non-existent is just like on phone - constantly looking and checking if not there is biggest drain compared to sending data on a good connection.

A misunderstanding I think in your post is underlined.
There are couple reasons the Engine turns on when not driving.
If HVB is at 30% it'll turn on until charged back up to 40%.
If heat is needed it'll turn on until abouts 122 F engine coolant, then off until back down to abouts 113 F.

But it won't turn on to charge the 12V battery. Which is charged from the DCDC Convertor from high-volt system, battery or engine if running for normal reasons.

I'm curious about a factory recall on pickup?
That's what they claimed? Any paperwork showing it was done like recall number?
I'm betting that battery was just dead already and they blamed something else.
