Good afternoon

I recently got a 2024 Maverick Lariat Edition about 8 months ago.

For the past month or so anytime I drive to work in the morning I soon get the message:
Vehicle in Battery Saver mode and I need to drive it to recharge the battery to add remove features...
So I drive it... park it at home, no issues, next day I drive to work... same thing. Battery saver mode again.. everyday.. without fail.

This is getting really annoying what is causing this to go into Battery Saver Mode? I am not leaving on the lights I double checked everything.. What is going on here?

I just want things to work.. correctly.. Especially now that the weather is starting to get cold.. I would like to be able to remote start my car to warm it up... and not deal with this BS BS... (Bull Sh!t Battery Saver). 8 months old battery shouldn't be having issues....
I
I just picked up a '23 XLT, and the first night I got that "deep sleep" message and I called the dealer the next day. Sat there for an entire day (lost work day) pushing them to figure it out. Got a lot of bullshit about how they charged the battery etc., but I wouldn't leave until I got a new battery, and I pushed them to do an "SMS" update which I was told was a possible cure (released in Oct, 24). They sent a mobile guy the next day to do that install. Hoping it's going to work, but I will be in touch with them if I get a message again. I basically told them if they can't make it right, I don't want the truck. I'm shocked at how many on here just shrug and say "Welp, that's just Maverick life." Bullshit. No other hybrids, including Fords, have this issue. Keep pushing until the company does a full fix and recalls and repairs them all.

Were you aware there is a software fix coming the 1st quarter of 2025 for the Mav battery issue? I hope this does finally fix the battery issues.

2023 maverick and have lived with the periodic deep sleep for last year. Ssm 53087 does talk about the app bug and 2025 fix. I have had to jump start several times. Discovered this last service visit that all tests are good and it would start without a jump. Yet I'm positive it was really dead at least twice in the last year (or the vehicle thought it was dead). Question is when others get the sleep message are all inside lights and dashboard lights out upon entering vehicle? That seems like more than an fordpass application bug. Also do others have to jump it occasionally? I have 30000 miles in 20 months so it doesn't sit and trips are not short.

One thing you can try is pull the telematics fuse. I think this will also disable fordpass. Fordpass is free but free for a reason.

Mine is also about 8 months and I'm on my 2nd battery. If I ever get to my 3rd battery, I will pull the telematic fuse and see how that works out. If that doesn't work, it's a trade in for me.

That's a great ideal putting that there.
The panel pops out easily, I recall there are (4) clips. I made a simple shielded, fused cable that runs to the threaded "+" post under the red cap and also to a chassis ground below it... No need to open the hood....

Do you have to push it from the inside? I didn't want to pry from the outside risk paint chipping.

If the 2025 fix doesn't work. I will attach an onboard maintainer powered by a rechargeable 12v power pack with a relay to keep mavericks 12v at 12.2 volts or more.
ETA: 100% to maintain battery health if possible.

I popped the panel out using a plastic trim removal tool over a small towel. No problems at all. If someone wants to "undo' the mod I recall the panel is about $45..

That will only work when your at home. Once you shut down the engine for a few minutes, it will not start back up with a poor battery like my first one. I parked at a ford stealership just to talk about this subject, I came back, couldn't start.

I have gotten deep sleep 5-6 times in two years on my 22 hybrid. The dealer tested battery today (took several hours) and their machine said to replace the battery. Will be the same one and I asked if I could pay extra and get an AGM battery and was told not under warranty ☹
are all of your dashboard lights out when it sleeps?

Note that I said "onboard" with its own battery pack. So it should be charging battery when relay turns it on when the maverick 12v is below 12.2 volts. So as long as it's separate backup battery has power the maverick 12v should close the contacts and truck should start. Could feed a 12v buck booster which could use the separate 12v dc maintainer battery down to six volts to maintain the maverick 12v. Question is how large does the maintainer battery need to be? You might buy one hour or 10 days or ?, depending....
ETA: Come to think of it I have some 6 volt 400 AH AGM batteries that if I wanted to carry 250 lbs more around I could make a 400AH 12 Volt battery to power my maintainer! Along with a 60 lb solar panel to keep them charged. But I'm waiting for the 2025 battery charge fix.
