Hi Everyone! I had hoped to introduce myself in my first post as a happy first time Ford customer with pics of my new 2024 HPR Maverick Hybrid. Unfortunately it’s not to be!
I ordered my Lariat July 3,, built Sept 4, Shipped Sept 9. It’s been sitting in a New Boston MI Ford holding area (90 miles from my dealer) for over 3 weeks! They’ve told the dealer 3 weeks in a row that it will ship the following week! Ford won’t let the dealer drive down and get it. It’s been assigned for the past 3 weeks to an auto hauler who won’t return my dealer’s phone calls.
Please let me know if this is just standard Ford operating procedure and I need to get used to it or if my situation is a fluke.
Thank you for letting me vent a bit!
PS - If anyone has any suggestions for me to get my truck, please let me know. I’ve purchased numerous accessories for it that I learned about here.
Hostage is not the appropriate term for what is happening. It is being delayed and perhaps beyond any control of by Ford or your Dealer. Hostage has a completely different meaning. Did someone from the Holding area contact you can say for a price they would release it? Get Real

Your right! They don’t even have the courtes
I'm afraid you will have to wait until it gets to your dealer. It will show up there sooner or later. Talk to your salesperson, and be nice! remember the truck is theirs, until you buy it. Remember most of us waited over a year to get ours, your only in it 4 months so far!
It’s all good. My dealer sales guy and manager have been super nice and tried to make something happen. My experience with them has been great! They know I’m frustrated, but I’d never take it out on them. Thanks for the suggestion.

I remember looking at Google images of the rail ramp knowing my truck was there… only to find out it had been routed to a yard in a different city (more likely the destination numbers I googled were incorrectly attributed to the wrong ramp) but about the same distance from my dealership. Knowing it was so close after waiting almost a year was unbearable. Then…

Thanks Ned for the positive note! Glad it happened so quickly for you! I keep telling myself it will be worth the wait! Fingers crossed here. Have a great day!

I ordered my 2024 XLT Hybrid in the First Week in June, took delivery 3rd week in September. My Ford Dealer sales rep kept me informed during the delivery process. 1st stop was Phoenix(rail), then Chicago(rail) then Ford Canada yard in Oakville(rail). The final leg was via auto-haul-away (truck/trailer). Worth the wait to get exactly what you want IMHO

I see it has been liberated from being held hostage.

You have my sympathy as I've been through the wringer too. In Jan my Lariat arrived to a lot by me but they wouldn't deliver it because of a gas tank recall. Just in case I ordered another one and it came in a few weeks ago ans I took it. Not the perfect one but it was in my hands. Yesterday the dealer called and my Lariat with the gas tank fixed is ready but I just got cleaned out in a divorce so I'm going to keep the bird in the hand unless a miracle happens and Ford cuts me a special offer.
