Hello, now that the Unicorn that I had built is on its way, I have been trying to probe what the delivery experience is like from dealers such as LMF to your home? After LMF posted the video showing it being delivered via flatbed, I grew worried. I have verified that they don't deliver via a covered service. I got a quote to have that done at $1200.
The drive from LMF to my home is 700+ miles. So, the vehicle makes a long trip uncovered on a train, gets cleaned up at LMF, some accessories added, then faces another 700 miles on a longbed uncovered to my home. Meanwhile, when it arrives I will have to assess any damage during the trip(s) knowing my dealer is 700 miles away. I have half a mind to pick it up in KS.
I'd like to hear from anyone who had a distance delivery from LMF or anyone else in this manner. What were your concerns during delivery and what shape was the truck in when you got it? Would you do it differently?
