Rolled the dice on aftermarket LED Taillights install on a Lariat...

Yes- you see Lasfit here a lot. They did a lot of advertising and advertised a plug and play bulb system, which didn't end up being the case. A lot of people here are/were new to LEDs and bought into the hype. Some people claim to have no issues and failures, while others have experienced multiple. Customer service leaves something to be desired as well. I did actually try them myself a while back so I do have firsthand experience, including the hassle-free return guarantee being a hassle and costing me 20% of my purchase price.

If you want to go cheap, there are other brands you can try - especially since you are willing to use Forscan. If you want to do it once and be done, I strongly recommend Diode Dynamics. I have a complete set of HP11 bulbs, front, tail, and reverse. They are all 3157 style, and even though the website doesn't show, they all fit the Maverick. Just shave the little nubs on the side as you have already seen. I actually have sidemarkers and mirror vanity lights from them as well. I would have cargo and third brake light, but I swapped an F150 module in there. I'm a big fan. I have emailed back and forth with questions before and after purchasing and always get a good response.

I'm also a fan of Diode Dynamics. But for the turn signals (front or rear) my understanding is that on XL/XLT models, Forscan will eliminate the hyperflashing at the LED but not on the dash indicators. Is that the case with you, or did you do something different?

I had planned on installing resistors "the old fashioned way" if I could find a suitable location. I have done this before on previous vehicles.

They do have some kind of an upgraded T3 bulb, I put them in mine a week or two ago. I posted it in here somewhere. I think it’s a post. “What did you do with your maverick today?” So far they’ve been working out good, It seems like I do still get some hyper flash on the dash though.

My opinion- if you are still getting any hyper flash, they aren't working out good. I would return for another brand while you still can.

Thanks. Didn't realize yours was a Lariat. I do think the XL/XLTs behave differently because their OEM lighting package is not upgraded.

Nope LASFIT no longer sells bulbs for Maverick taillights, even the newer T3s had issues. Unless you are not getting them direct from LASFIT, as far as I know they aren't available. Wouldn't waste more of my money on LASFIT junk after this. The cheap no-name brand LED's I got for my last car lasted way longer than the LASFIT stuff.

I have the Lasfit T3 on my Hybrid XL. I did the Forscan to get rid of the hyperflash. BUT, the stop lights don't work all the time. I'll get the DiodeDynamic ones.

That's good enough for me. I'm big on personal experience, and I appreciate yours. Once I get the taillights working, the high mount stop light and cargo lights are next. Last will be the front turn signals.

Lasfits DID WORK, until Ford updated the module 2 time! My 23 hybrid has had none of the recalls done. Original Lasfit LEDs are still working fine. My son put them in his 22 EB, and they worked fine until he had the recall done. He got the T3s, and they sort of worked. Sometimes they would not come on in Auto mode, sometimes they would hyper flash, and sometimes they would be fine. He switched back to the original Lasfit LEDs, and his dash hyper flashes, but the bulbs flash at normal rate. He just lives with it....

No. There is nothing extra in them to try to fool the computer or anything. You need to change Forscan settings (preferable) or add resistors.

CANBUS ready means they mimic the load of an oem incandescent bulb. An incandescent bulb cannot "talk" to the computer as you said. The BCM detects a resistance value. If a lower resistance, or an open is detected the BCM signals a malfunction. It's not because the bulbs tell it they are defective. The Ford programming update increased the resistance signature required to "see" a "good" bulb, and LEDs simply no longer meet that spec.
