Aftermarket LED Lightbar install not working properly?

Has anyone experienced an issue with taillights not operating properly after installing an LED tailgate light bar? When my light switch selector is on auto my left tailgate light intermittently turns On/Off. What is strange is that when applying the brakes or initiate left turn signal, that works as it should. What causes the night driving rear left light to not work?

sounds like something is wired wrong. if you can provide details on the light bar, wiring harness adapter and your installation process details you will probably get better help. that being said, i seem to recall numerous post about light bar issues long ago and some success post also. do a search on light bar, etc and see what ya find.

Mine did the same, had to put a booster on it. The BCM didn’t like the lightbar and would shut down the turn signal. Also had issues with the left running light. Seems like there was a firmware fix for that.

Thanks for the info on the possible Firmware update. I have an appointment next week with the dealer for an oil change and will broach the light bar issue and possible firmware update.

It's drawing too much current and hitting a safety shutoff in the Body Control Module -- kind of like blowing a fuse.

Either remove the bar, or power it from an external source using a relay.

I had a similar issue, so I swapped in LED taillight bulbs and the problem went away.

Are you using the trailer light hook-up or is it hard wired?
