After 2 seasons of extreme heat, I've learned that it's beneficial to run max AC on lowest temperature setting, max fan setting-

When driving solo, I close passenger vents, and barely crack open the three to the left...

It seems to somehow cool
the battery, and lets it recharge much better-

I don't doubt you but I am still trying to figure out how the two cooling systems - ICE engine and hybrid battery - benefit from this. Does the hybrid system stay on longer or at a higher pump volume? Dunno and still scratching my head.

It seems like the battery stops taking a charge when it gets too hot.

I'm not sure how, but even when it's above 110 degrees, I can get the battery to take a charge to better capacity with the AC blasting on MAX and the vents barely cracked...

The HV battery is cooled via a separate radiator ("high voltage battery radiator", #11 in the pic below), the a/c compressor does not loop into it at all.

On pure electric cars the a/c compressor is used to cool the coolant flowing into the battery, however.

Huh !!!

Not sure what you mean by "run max AC on lowest temperature setting, max fan setting" as that seems to imply you are running that setting constantly which will greatly impact MPGs in the worst way.

For me this works:

When entering a Hot Vehicle and driving I hit the "MAX AC Button".

The "MAX AC Button" turns the Temp to "LO" the lowest setting and runs the FAN at Max Speed.

Then in about a couple of minutes I turn off "MAX AC" and in normal AC mode I set the temp to 78 and the FAN Speed to 3 then a little while later to 2 and finally to 1.

The AC will cycle on when temp gets above 78 and off when below 78 just like the thermostat in your home.

Could the front fins be getting opened fully for max AC and this benefits the battery cooling too?

Whereas without it's willing to go higher on battery temps with fins closed or partial?

What's 20 & 21 both cooling systems go to, also 7?

Sorry to ask. I'm still curious what manuals will be available besides Ford official that don't need yearly sub.

20 is a valve and 21 is a HV battery coolant pump

HUH-

I thought our hybrid air-conditioning ran off the battery???

Shouldn't impact MPG like running an ICE AC...

Well, you use up the battery on running the AC now there is less to provide propulsion.

Why everyone takes a hit for MPG in the summer with AC going.

I started driving my hybrid maverick in June 2023-

We had 55 days over 110 degrees. I pretty much gave up on getting any electric sailing...

This summer, we set a record with 60 days over 110.

I discovered that running the ac on max coldest setting fan full blast with vents barely cracked helps electric driving on accident. Wife complaining about burning up in the back seat...

I'm not an engineer, just sharing my personal experience...

I don't know how hybrids work but in an ice vehicle, when you enter a hot car you put the a/c on regular, not max. That draws in fresh air that's not as hot as the inside air. Once the cabin cools down you switch to max which recirculate the cold air and stops the hot outside air from entering.

Maybe a hybrid is different.
