Well, all good things must come to an end. As I am no longer able to heft my kayak, I had to get rid of it, and no longer have a need for a truck. Carvana offered me $24,600 for my 2022 XL (I paid $19,995 + $1,400 options), only 6400 miles. It has been my first non-convertible vehicle, and I miss them. So, I bought a 2012 BMW 328i convertible money pit. Good luck folks; you have a great forum here. Before I go, I think of that great Mort Sahl parting, "Before I go, is there any group I haven't offended?"

Take the money and run! Buy a Mustang GT convertible, not a German convertible (Audi, Benz, BMW) like you mention, all will put you in the poor house with maintenance!

I doubt that statement is true. A truck is needed many times in ones lifetime. I do hope your happy with your decision and your used BMW. Best of luck to you. Also sorry to hear you had to give up kayaking.

Thanks for the moral support. I had a 2004 Ford Retrobird that was a money pit that I eventually had to sell. Years later, I am buying this car, but with two changes, I now HAVE the money, and I bought an extended warranty, NO DEDUCTIBLE, for two years, at just under $100 a month. Re. that electric convertible top, I can hear my Dad rolling over in his grave. It causes me concern, but I figure that if anybody can do it right, it will be the over-engineering Germans. The "2002" you mentioned . . . year or model?
I had a '72 2002 BMW sedan and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. Would love to get my hands on a restored one.
