Have any of you heard from Ford?

When I bought my Maverick, I told my dealer that I needed as much advance information as I could get on delivery, as I am selling my current car to Carvana, which means a few days without a car and without any money. My dealer assured me that as soon as my sale was entered into the system, I would receive periodic updates from Ford, on my manufacturing status, shipping status, and anticipated delivery status.

I bought my truck on June 11, and am yet to hear from Ford. So, I would like to know if any of you have heard from Ford, and when did you order your Maverick.

Thanks in advance.

You won't get any update until at least next week. Scheduling begins next week (July 15) for builds in August. There won't be any communication until you are scheduled.

I received a single email stating that the order had been received, which is all that can happen at this point. They aren't slated to even being manufacturing them until mid August and the order in which they are built isn't based on when the order was received. Not sure what the algorithm is, but I'm sure it's based on the most efficient way to make the most trucks given the materials on hand. However, I wouldn't hold your breath on anything sooner than Christmas 2021 or early in the New Year.

So strap in, it's going to be a long flight.

I ordered my truck on July 5 and I received an email from Ford stating my order was acknowledged. My understanding is that we should receive another email once all parts to assembly the truck are secured and on hand then production on it would begin. I believe this is also when you'll be given a VIN number along with a "Window Sticker" stating what your truck is equipped with. So only a few more email may be coming our way. Keep in mind that production is not slated to start until "Fall", which according my dealership would around Sept/Oct timeframe.

I think you mean to say you ordered your truck on June 11. If your dealer has already sold you something that doesn't exist, then I think you got taken for a ride, and not in a Maverick. You may have signed an intent to purchase document, however. But that doesn't mean that you have bought the truck.

At best you should have received an order confirmation email from Ford acknowledging your specific order, with a promise of additional updates when available. As others have said it will look like this:

  1. Order Confirmed (you should be at this point)
  2. Scheduled for production (around July 15)
  3. Built (Job 1 builds begin around August 15)
  4. Shipped
After shipping, it may be at your designated dealer for a couple of days, at that point it is up to the dealer to let you know that your vehicle has arrived. Go to the dealer, inspect your vehicle for any damages or defects, take it for a test drive, whatever... then you may buy it from the dealership.

going through the mach e process you will not get a lot of notice other than what others have mentioned above. you certainly will not get a few days notice so don't plan on getting a call that the maverick will be ready for delivery in 2 days.
With the mach e I got email end of may that it will be delivered week of july 7th. Middle of june got an email that date for delivery was pushed to week of july 15. June 28th got a text that my mach e had arrived and was ready for pick up.

Suggest you don't sell you car until your maverick has arrived

this is the email I got after my dealer placed the order

I'm going to sell my current Rav4 private sale, I would like some notice as to timing so i'm not carless. (I live alone so bumming a ride from a roommate or gf is out of the questions). I can go one or two days without a car but more than that is a problem due to my schedule.

You could rent a car or uber where you needed to go for a short time. There are also longer term rentals available from the major rental companies should you need a car.

I called the Ford Marketing line for the Maverick and they are able to validate order status by Order/Sales Code.

they clarified that confirmation emails for order come from the dealerships directly and not all dealerships send those emails.
Something to keep in mind for those who have not gotten emails.

The number I called was (800) 334-4375, maverick extension is 4.

Yeah when I ordered my Maverick I had to sign a form that said “preview order” on it. It has a sales and order code. Something to note though, my order code changed after they submitted it to Ford.
If you contact your dealer they should be able to provide that document.

I mean it is a bit of an important distinction :p
At any moment order can be canceled and there would be minimum repercussions for dealer/ford, versus if he actually bought it and they're obligated to get something to him.

Hey Folks, just a quick update. I pick up my Maverick tomorrow morning. It arrived earlier this week, the 27th, and got the spray-in liner installed this morning. The truck is ready NOW, but I will pick it up tomorrow morning, Saturday. Ford's word was good: they told me delivery would be the week of April 26-May 2, and my dealer had it on the 27th.

All the options that I requested came on the truck. Reading this forum faithfully probably took a year off my life with the worry about what options I was and was not going to get, and all the various horror stories. I would have been better off had I NOT read this forum, but hindsight is a perfect science.

Good luck with your purchases, and I hope yours goes as well as mine - knock wood.

Signing off, Omini Domini Nabisco,

GAB
