Sent an email to TFL Truck today, asking if they had any intention of doing a head to head test, to see if one has an advantage over the other.

Heard back from none other than Andre himself, indicating that they hope to do this later this year, once the Hybrid AWD becomes available.

Stay tuned, HRG

Awesome can't wait to see that. I'm sure they will also test it off road!

I'm more interested in internal operating temps of the hybrid transmission/ICE RPM and longevity than if it can beat a car with another 60hp on it up a mountain.

Honestly though, it's pretty incredible Ford was able to comply with the tow rating spec with the Maverick, assuming longevity issues aren't impacted much. Even more comical is the base model Chevy Colorado with the turbo'd 4 making 237hp is only rated to 3,500 lbs and that is a mid-size truck.

Don’t be surprised if if doesn’t tow better than you would think.
3 Fords, no Chevy fan boy.

Considering that the base model Colorado weighs 500#+ more than the Maverick, with the same hp as the 2.0EB, the reduced tow capacity is understandable.

Maverick hybrid has a 2.5l 160 hp ICE motor in it. When towing, it does not use the battery, unless it's for momentary starts.

The 2.0l ecoboost has 240? hp turbo'd ICE motor.

Colorado has a 2.7l 237 hp turbo'd ICE motor.

Kenab Utah to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (that will take you to 9k feet at some point) with a 2500lb trailer in tow, some gear in the bed, driver, passenger, and two medium dogs in the back seat. That will tell us all we need to know...

And yet the 2.0EB Tremor has a 2000# tow limit,,,,,,

Yeah not sure why, is that a limitation of the 4wd system in it?
Probably the same reason my 2010 6.2l Raptor was rated at 6k# and a 5.0l regular F150 was rated at 11K#, suspension.

My point is that the GM 2.7 turbo is going to make more tq at lower rpm which is desirable when pulling a load.

suspension. All the off road specific vehicles have less towing because of softer suspension.
