Gen Z here. We're a broke generation so affordability is key for us. I couldn't imagine getting a mid or full-size truck between the absurd prices, insurance and gas. The Maverick is easy on the wallet, at least it was the first couple of model years until the drastic price increases kicked in, especially the 25 refresh.

I think the Maverick was meant to have a wide ranging appeal. A name the boomers could relate to and most current generations never heard of or don't remember. A vehicle that can serve many people both with growing families and those downsizing to one vehicle. Makes a great first or second car. Works as a car for new drivers. The ladies seem to like it as much as the guys and it has great utility. I don't believe Ford wanted to exclude anyone and the target was very wide.
Well said and exactly right.

I’m with you. Don’t need a large 4 x 4 truck anymore. Retired boomers that still do the small stuff is a big market. Live in a 55 community, see Mavericks and a few less Santa Cruz’s here.
Interesting about the Santa Cruz. I remember when we were looking to buy our Palisade, The Santa Cruz was just coming out. There was one in the showroom and sales was pushing the "adventure" features of it as in "room for a couple of coolers in the bed". It was clear their target was a much younger crowd focusing on fun. There's not much 'work' that can be done with the SC. The Maverick was intended for a wider audience.

Gen X here (or Xennial more accurately). Like it for the size, not the price. No need for a big ass truck. Hell, I wish they would make a real "luxury" trim for those of us that want a small truck, not a cheap truck.

I’m a 64 year old boomer and I love my little Ute!
It’s very entertaining to drive, does well on gas and kinda takes me back to my first vehicle, a 68 Ranchero.
I also have an F-150 and both have their strengths and not so strengths. 🤪
I’ve said it before, Ford nailed it so well the competition doesn’t really want to invest with a decent competitor.
There’s been plenty of time…….

New age Boomer here (geezer), with an old school need for speed. I'm happy zipping around in my little turbo charged 2.0l ecoboost truck, or ripping up the asphalt on my flat six cylinder hot rod muscle bikes. Interestingly, the Mav and the old carbureted bikes get similar miles per gallon. On a nice summer day, the bikes still produce more smiles per gallon. 😎 Good to be on the top side of the grass!

As a millennial who identifies GenX(all my siblings are X) I think the Maverick is a perfect daily driver for alot of people in a lot of uses. Its really a great and widely versatile platform. Once they add in the Lobo and the van, there wont be anything it cant do other than tow heavy.

The Kia Soul was intended for a younger crowd, but became widely popular with old folks. We had 2.

My neighbor had a Kawasaki 500 Triple back in the day. I never knew a motorcycle could destroy tires that fast. Your bikes sound mean 😈
My old dude toy is a reg cab F-150 with a Coyote and a 10 speed. Satisfies my occasional need to act like a teenager when necessary. 😉
Wife doesn’t like it but always gets over it.
Don’t think I could handle a Mustang GT anymore, pretty sure she’d hide the keys from me.

I'm a millennial, but I definitely think the Maverick was designed for all age groups. Let's face it, the pickup truck market has gotten a bit outrageous and the size of "mid" and full size trucks is appalling. I think the Maverick is the right truck for the right time and has a lot of versatility without being too much. Plus it's affordable, which makes it a lot more appealing to buyers as well, including myself.

I'm Gen X, and from the poll options I see my generation is once again being ignored. Whatever.

I think the Maverick was designed more for a market segment (a compact pickup) than for a demographic.

These are 1520s, based on the old Goldwing engine but with six carbs and beefed up cams. Burly bikes.
Have one 97 Tourer and a 2001 Interstate. Depending on how one twists their right wrist, they can chew up rear tires pretty quickly, which is why I've been running Darkside (car tires) on back for decades now.

I had a truck, loved it, but hated filling up. The maverick solved that.
This right here. Hell I couldn’t even stomach the premium and 24mpg the Maverick Tremor was getting me.

the Maverick AWD Hybrid is perfect for what I need. It’s 100% of the truck I need 95% of the time.
