This is my 3rd version. I always need more room. This one is 1-by, so it is light.

I recently modified my 2x6. I rounded the corners and drilled 2 1/8 holes in it. I also added the handles. The rounded corners really mak it easy to get it in and out (even with the bed cover on) and the holes serve two purposes, one is to lighten the board and the other is to allow you to use bungees to secure things. It is not such a PIA to use now.

Now I need to finish the raw spots with some Poly to call it good.

I like that, although the handles on top might interfere with hauling 4X8 foot sheets of plywood or drywall. Still, looks nice. Nothing like the look of stained wood to dress up anything. Especially if your color is terrain like mine.

Anyone have the measurements with the bed liner installed? Also I have a tonneau cover installed if it makes a difference?

I really never looked to see if it will inhibit the sheet goods. I will have to go look now. :)

This is what I have been using for over a year now.

2 by 4 across the bottom of the slot. Then another 2 by 4 at the top of the slot, with two little "legs" attached to the back of the top divider and one leg on the front so that it is elevated off the floor of the bed and does not "twist" front to back if pressure/weight is placed on the front or back of the divider. Having it built in two pieces allows me to easily remove it with my toneau cover and rails still installed.

When I sold my 2022 (drop in liner) and got my 2023 (Spray In), this is the comment I made.

"Discovered that my bed sides are either not perfectly "wide" from bottom to top, or my spray in Bed-Liner varies quite a bit in thickness. About 90% sure it is the former and not the latter.

When I first got my 2023 and sold my 2022, I noticed that my homemade bed dividers suddenly became very loose in the 2023, while they fit snug in the 2022. I figured it was because my 2022 had a Drop In Bed-Liner, while the 2023 has Spray In.

Bottom of the slot read a bit under 54.5. Top of the slot measured a bit over 54.75. Roughly a quarter inch variance? Lame. But I moved on and cut my bottom 2 by 4 to a tiny bit under 54.5 so it would be snug at the narrowest part. Go to slide it into the slot and even keeping it as close to parallel with the bed bottom as I could, it still jammed. Started slicing slivers off...... Ended up with it snug on the bottom of the slot, but really sloppy/loose if raised towards the top. Cut my "top" divider a bit longer, as I knew the top of the slot was wider than the bottom of the slot. Ended up right around 54.75 for the top one. Stuck the "legs" on the top divider so that it would stay at the top of the slot. "

I run two black painted 2X6’s stacked so I get more height for taller items. Easier to take in and out than a single 2X8, and gives you more flexibility. The ends have weather strips glued to them for a snug fitment. I do think I will drill some 1 1/4” holes to run bungees through.

Dimensions for anyone wondering

Bed Divider Dimensions.webp
Thanks for the information. I didn’t have the patience to climb into the bed to get accurate measurements for my DIY divider. I will use this for my next project. I had some leftover Vinyl fencing material that does not need painting, is weatherproof, and is very easy to remove.
