A mid cycle update isn't really going to drive much new excitement. Prices are up, but have you seen the midsize prices lately? $45k and you've still got a cloth interior. I think a bigger problem for Ford is that $28k is now the entry price into a Ford, which is supposed to be a mass market budget friendly brand.

I had been planning to order a 2025 and trade-in my loaded 2022 XLT... but:

Dealbreakers:

1. The horrific front-end design
2. Loss of center console control knobs
3. Cost - the price of the same build for 2025 is more than $6,500 above my 2022.

Factoring in my 2022 XLT trade-in value, plus additional sales tax, my estimated cost to get into a 2025 would be more than $14,000 (!!!).

In addition, I would have to re-purchase a Ford Extended warranty for $1,000 (not sure if there would be a refund available on the unused warranty for the 2022 that I purchased).

2025 disappointments:

- Front end styling and deleted buttons as I mentioned above
- No 360 camera available on the XLT
- No split rear bench seat
- Unimpressive choice of exterior colors
- The loss of the round gauges

2025 likes - Push button start on the XLT - that's it! The larger screen I don't care for, I prefer the current smaller screen as it's less obtrusive, especially at night.

In my 50+ years of buying a lot of brand new vehicles, the Maverick is the first refresh of a vehicle I have owned that I was disappointed in. It's also tops the list for the vehicles I have owned with the highest year to year price increases.

Count me as someone who also prefers the buttons and knobs over touch screen. I also prefer the smaller screen and the extra cubby that is available. So my 2024 order will not be switched to a 2025 order for those primary reasons.

I was at my dealer this morning for an oil change and BCM recall. They have not received and calls or order request on the 2025 Maverick.
Emailed my dealer today. I want the new tech the 2025 XLT offers. I wish they had the Cyber Orange color however. I really like that on my 2022 Maverick.

Sync 4, push button start, and bigger screen. Ordering the Green this time.

not as hard to get as they once were. you can go buy a Mav today for pretty much MSRP. there was a time when $5k markup was like the minimum. When I placed my order for MY23 they had 3 2022s on the lot each with $20k markup. Those days are long gone now.
I was curious about that if people are still paying full MSRP? I went to KBB and they are saying about $600 to $800 off MSRP is normal: https://www.kbb.com/ford/maverick/ I believe Granger is offering 3% under invoice, but not sure what invoice is on '25s and if that's a huge discount compared to norm these days.

My dealer still doesn’t have any on the lot.

I looked mine up on carmax just for curiosity and the quote was literally $99 less than sticker. I would only want the hybrid awd. I have the Ecoboost xlt fx4. The difference after taxes is about 10k. To me anyway that’s crazy. I don’t think it’s as much what they are charging now honestly as much as how low they started out at. I think the fact that i have driven it a year and a half and only lost the taxes technically in money even more solidifies the decision to buy one early on.

I don't see the excitement like last year's & I don't believe the ugly front lip on the 2025 will go over that well.

Exactly. The original pricing on the Maverick put it on par with mid-range SUVs. With the price increase, I can buy an SUV with more bells and whistles AND a trailer to do truck things.
Also the pricing isn't that far off of mid-sized trucks or used full-size trucks.
Mid size base SUVs are starting around 40k...

I know my family is looking to see if a hybrid bronco is next.

$500-$1000 under MSRP should be fairly easy with a little work. Any dealer that honors X-plan will get you a $500+ discount depending on trim and options. I paid about $1,000 under MSRP with X-plan and persistence on the price protection. Without X-plan I would have gone to Granger.

1 & 2 were enough to sh*t-can my plans to order a '25 XL. (The resale value of my XL Hybrid made #3 a non-issue for me.)

I paid MSRP minus $500 mil discount for mine two years ago. I'll not buy another Maverick for less than $1,500 cash on the hood. And (I believe) that's coming for sure. Ford already has $750 cash on the hood for 2024 models ordered before 29 Sep - I threw that offer into the trash already.

I have a theory, and I'll be the first one to admit it could be total wishful BS, that Ford upped the price a bit extra for 2025 to cover future incentives. Because it's becoming a tougher car market out there,. So they're getting ready ahead of time. Nothing makes buyers happier than a sign saying "$1,500 off", even if that $1,500 was deliberate overpricing by Marketing.

Those Ford marketing guys aren't always dumb. Sometimes they're dumb (like releasing the hybrid at $19,995 when it could have fetched thousands more). But not always. I think they're reading the tea leaves and Maverick incentives will become increasingly common.

I'm still excited, especially for the awd hybrid. Driving a 2023 rollover now I've had for just over a year. Starting the process for a 2025 awd hybrid and it feels like the first time—just hoping the wait isn't as long. Also by upgrading, I'll save about 4k. The trade-in value for my 23 hybrid is still in the mid 20k range. Considering what I have left on it for payment, this is a no-brainer for me.
Similar for me. I think people who have really wanted AWD hybrid are the people who are going to order right away. And then maybe people interested in Lobo.

Currently, unless you want an XL, you can still order a 24 and get it fairly quickly. (I expect XL will continue to be a constraint in 25 as well.) So it makes sense the demand for the 25 Maverick will mostly be people wanting one of the "new" options.
