Why are we compairing a Maverick, to a Tocoma? Toyota doesn't have a hybrid small truck, it is also a midsize truck, also Toyota sells more trucks worldwide then Ford in that midsize market. I think both companys are doing well in there sales Ford in the U.S., and Toyota in other countries. Until Ford products become more reliable, Toyota's will go 200K never needing recalls!

Comparisons that make no sense:
Ford to Toyota.
Yugo to Lexus.

Just was thinking. Depending on what the Ford Maverick for 2025 offer. It we'll may dethrone Toyota Tacoma if Ford Maverick offers the AWD in the hybrid model.

Maverick production is currently limited to the capacity of the Hermosillo factory. They may allocate more Mavericks at the cost of fewer Bronco Sports, but probably not that much. Whereas the all-new Tacoma is still scaling production.

There's a lot behind the scenes of these sales numbers - not always retail customer demand. Production for an all-new vehicle like the Tacoma is greatly limited as they work out the kinks on the production floor. It typically takes a year or more to scale. Also, sales numbers are often skewed by discounted fleet sales - think rentals, Roto-Rooter Mavericks, etc.

I wonder how those large fleet sales will affect our Maverick resale values as they come onto the used market in volume in the years to come. It certainly won't help.

I know there is a lot of Toyota fanboys on here, for some crazy reason, but aside from the microcosm of Hawaii I never once considered Toyota trucks on any throne, at least in America. They are uncomfortable, expensive, too big and somehow too small at the same time. Styling is subjective but they haven't really looked good for 20 years. Ford on the other hand has made the toughest trucks in America since the dawn of time.

Like the Mexican Maverick.
That's debatable. Even though it's built, manufactured, assembled in Mexico many parts are manufactured in the USA. Of course it can be reversed a vehicle assembled in the USA but parts are manufactured around the world. What matters the most, is follow the money. To me that determines if is American or Foreign. Just for the record that also determines which country makes money off of taxation of that money or profit.

I'm replying to my own post here because I just rode in a Toyota product today. OMG those seats are designed to inflict major back pain on a round Midwest bred torso. We flew over to Oahu for a CT scan. And had to go take a taxi to the facility. The first one was a Kia Soul, surprisingly roomy in the back and a good seat shape. The taxi back to the airport was a Lexus RS350 late model. It was a bit of a neck crane to get in the car once inside my head hit the ceiling and with ever moment the pain in my lower back grew and grew. It was almost like the seat had no lower back and the shoulder cushion was vertical while the seat bottom had too much slope. I have only a handful of times ridden more than a mile or so in a Toyota, and to be honest with you I think I will actively avoid it from now on. No thanks, they just aren't built for me.
