I've owned my 2024 XLT for 9K Miles. It hasn't let me down, but there are a few weird things that annoy me.
1. Collision Avoidance: It goes of at least once a week with no apparent traffic around.
2. Clicking noises (relays?) that continue to click long after the truck is parked.
3. While changing the oil, I noticed that the axle shafts attach at an extreme angle that distorts the boots. Seems like they wouldn't survive for long...
Anyone else notice these anomalies?

I also have a 24' xlt purchased on June 1st. I have 1.) & 2.) like you as well, both annoying as hell to me.

I had the accident avoidance go off passing my neighbor's mailbox and was nowhere near hitting it. Another time passing a vehicle in the lane next to me, again nowhere close to each other 6-7' apart

I've also heard the bcm of computer whatever come-on randomly while sitting parked in the garage, with the keys in the house.

2023 Hybrid 10,800 miles: I've experienced Collision Avoidance alert go off couple times with nothing in close proximity. The direct sunlight may have caused false readings each time.
All other times were valid

If you haven’t already, you can decrease the sensitivity on the collision assist. I turned mine all the way down - to the point where if it goes off, I’m probably not going to hit anybody, but even I have to admit I’m driving like an asshole. Fair enough. 🤷‍♂️

If yours still goes off once a week, set to the lowest sensitivity - it’s either malfunctioning, or… it’s, um, your driving style. 🙂

I remember early on that some had their windshields installed slightly off center giving the camera some trouble.

The dealer or an autoglass company could run the calibration procedure for you, either way it shouldn't do weird crap like described. Hell, even Safelite installed my first replacement off-center and had to pull it and reset it. What is your collision avoidance system sensitivity set at?

The clicking and clacking you hear could be your active grill shutters doing their dance as well.

Watch those boots close, seems to be a frequent failure for many owners

Maybe try locking it see if that will help with the clicking

Thanks for your replies. The only thing that really bothers me are the axleshafts. I did have the front wheels off the ground while U was charging the oil, so maybe the front wheels were cambered in more than usual...

The first time the alarm went off, I had just washed the truck. Thought maybe it had to do with water intrusion, but it's happened many times since under many conditions and hardly ever around traffic!

I'll check the active grill shutters to see if the noise is similar. I found lots of nuts from chipmunks under the hood which frightened me into thinking they were getting into the wiring! I haven't seen any electrical problems though and the nuts didn't return after cleaning them out.

I disconnected Fuse# 11 (Telemetry modem) and also hit lock button twice with the fob (mislock honk disabled) when locking the truck. This seems to have significantly reduced the relays clicking on my XL.

...I turned mine [Collision Avoidance] all the way down...
I did the same.

My Escape (waiting on my Maverick) does do the clicking and clacking randomly... Can be in the garage for hours or overnight and as I walk by the garage I here it clicking and clacking (keys in the house).

The only time my collision avoidance goes off is when it should AND on curves where parked cars are on the outside apex and my foot is on the gas as I approach. If I approach and coast through the curve it doesn’t go off. I drove through the same street four times and confirmed that scenario. I drive that path most days and sometimes forget to pull my right foot out or no cars are parked there and it proves to me that the device works as designed. There doesn’t need to be traffic, such as a car approaching, just the parked car.

So what if it clicks and clacks let it do what it was built to do. I sometimes think you guys want to change things just to change things. Like the Beatles said "Let it Be".

As far as collision assist. I've noticed it lighting up in town on curved streets when on coming traffic is entering curve also or when a car ir parked next to on coming side of the street.
