The only joke here is the sticker in the window stating when to change oil.

LOL

It is all about miles travelled and not time when it comes to changing oil. Too bad the oil monitors dont just use miles. The algorithm is based on HOW the vehicle is driven. I get it. But I still change according to miles. Just reset the reminder and be happy. Easy to do in settings menu.

This thread is a joke.

It's not all about miles.
It's about 50 factors and you know three of them.

The computerized oil change reminder is the best tool anyone has short of lab tests and numerous lab tests agree the computer knows how "hard" you were on your oil.

Throw away the sticker. Its a marketing tool for the oil-change place, not a reminder. Lots of places don't even put one on now. Use the factory oil life monitor and the oils with the correct specification instead. Its calculating roughly how much your oil has broken down under dozens of factors like heat, hard acceleration, oxidation due to time, fuel load in the oil, not just simplistic miles driven.

10,000 miles is average, for a hybrid.

When I was towing a lot, the on-board computer said to change at 6,000 miles, 3 months apart.

Now I "hypermile" I stay off the freeways a coast around town for the most part, and it reminded me to change at 12,600 miles.

Totally convincing evidence it is not counting just time and/or miles.

not to mention
Frequent short trips increase the amount of condensation that's not cooked off. The water in the crankcase is not harmful, but it can combine with sulfur, a byproduct of combustion, to form sulfurous acid, a weak acid that breaks down the lubricating qualities of the oil

Maybe you shouldn't mention.

My Blackstone Lab Report found this is not happening with 10,000 miles of short city trips and hyper-miler techniques that net 20% engine on time and 54 mpg tanks.
🤷🏻‍♂️

Good quality oils have good quality neutralizing agents. Good for 15,000 miles in most cases.

what about those hybrid owners reporting that nasty pudding under the oil fill cap, should they keep quiet too?

Yep.
Harmless. I don't get super cold here.
But I see it in the 40's and 50's.
Leads one to believe it happens to everyone. Fresh oil or not. It goes away when warm/hot.

And that plastic cap it not part of the engine. Do you base you heart health on the looks of your haircut?

Change every 5k miles , reset oil life calculator on dash every time you change it and you will not see the warning come up .
At least that’s what I do ,5k,10k,15k

This whole thread is a lot of imagination, now days engines last 200,000 miles + and when ever has any one heard of a questionable worn out engine from ? oil.
