I can't really answer that. I followed the directions which uses the supplied alcohol pads then the prep pad as the step prior to attaching it to the truck. Not sure it will attach properly without uses that prep pad. Sorry I could not give you a definitive answer.

I ordered the cover from Amazon last week, along with the mudflaps. It matches very well to the interior of my Lariat. Quality looks good, easy as could be to install and the price was very reasonable. Very happy so far. Awaiting the PPF tape to install the mudflaps. Ron

Picked up my Alto Blue Ecoboost Lariat Lux during the heavy rainstorm here today. The weather broke and my wife took a few pics. 6 Mavericks were delivered to my dealership yesterday. I think I was the first to pick mine up. Not sure but I did not see any others on the lot.
