I went 6900 miles on the Synth blend the dealer uses and it was absolutely trashed looking to me - Still waiting for the blackstone results. Moving forward only full synthetic for me.

Make sure there's a record that the dealer did that if there's ever a warranty issue. Hybrids are only have full synthetic.

Ford motor oil is manufactured by ConocoPhillips and they also produce Kendell motor oil. Other motor oils are also produced by Warren industries as sold by Walmart. And you have your oil company's such as Shell , Mobil, ect that make high quality oil. As an auto technician for more than 30 years the arguments of which oil is better make me laugh because it's not about a particular brand of oil that causes an engine failure but it's the lack of maintenance and care that destroys an engine. Used the recommended viscosity rating that the owners manual suggests no matter what oil brand you choose.

I'm assuming that your concern is the oil looks especially dirty. If accurate that means to me is all or most of the contaminates not trapped by your filter over 7,000 miles are in suspension. That's kind of good since an oil change will likely flush all that gunk out and not foul your engine further.

If the oil report says the oil is in good condition I'd be wondering why the filter was missing those contaminates. Plugged and in bypass or too porous for our application with the 2.0L. Very interested in your oil report and what filter you're running.

Thanks for responding, we all learn through this kind of interaction. Eager to see your Blackstone results, I'm not suggesting any over reaction.
I've already ordered the oversized WIX XP oil filter for mine and monitoring the air filter based on your thread on that subject. I'm in a pretty dust free area so not looking for issues similar to what you experienced but you never know.

I've been using Motorcraft synth blend in my Ford vehicles for about 3 decades now. It works fine....

OP has a Hybrid. The manual recommends Full Synthetic - not a blend.

Motorcraft is good oil but not that type.
