My wife's 2016 Ford fusion has 2 rear HVAC vents on the back of the console for the rear passengers. Weird the maverick doesn't, thanks bean counters.

Ok, that makes sense.
I did not have the foot level selected.
Cool beans. 🥶
Also consider a small 12v. cooling fan to help cool the kiddo. I have no specific suggestions. I have not researched the subject but certainly you aren't the first person wanting this.

Perhaps there is a [small, 12 v. ] squirrel cage style that can either be mounted under a seat or in the center console where vents could be fitted to exhaust out to the rear seat???

Or something that is simple and temporary for the hot summer months that doesn't require mods.

That's a thought. Perhaps something just sitting (or mounted somehow) to the rear console where you can direct the air flow towards the occupant(s) in back to give them some cool, moving air.

Eric,
I think you misunderstood my post.
I never indicated, I needed rear floor vents.
My post and picture was to confirm to the 2 previous posting members, the "OP" Crashdumie" & "shawshi" that indeed there are rear facing vents under the driver and passenger seats.
Take care

Active X pleather the only reason I did not buy a Lariat.
Yesterday it was 115°-117° here in the desert southwest.
I am over being burned, sweating with real or fake leather. I do not spent that kind of money on a vehicle and hate the place where I sit. Tacky seat covers are an unacceptable solution on a new vehicle to me.
If ford offered pleather delete. I would have bought a Lariat.
My thoughts exactly.

Yeah, my bad. Sometimes I read and scroll through several responses and hit reply on the one I last read which isn't the OP so my response is a non-sequitur.

Every time I get in my Mav I hit MAX for the AC, and it cools down the whole truck in about 30 seconds. Even my daughter in the backseat complains it gets too cold if i leave it on max too long. Maybe if you're parked outside in AZ where it's 115 out the AC might have to work a bit more. But I can say Ford is great for AC.

More hot Texas hacks; Open the rear windows for about one block to vent the trapped hot air while the a/c fans run hi. Then close up and cool down. I also use a windshield screen in parking lots and it's not beneath me to walk out with a wet paper towel for the steering wheel during these heat waves.

I'm just curious if anyone has extended the venting system to the back of the cab or to under the front seats for seat coolers.
Mine has those floor vents under both front seats. They are really very forward so as not to be able to kick with shoes. They work if the HVAC is set to the floor position with heat or A/C but don't provide much relief if the back is hot. I'd suggest having the front dash vents pointing up , around and over the people up front. The cool air will drop to them better that way.

Yesterday we were traveling up to the lake (about 40 minutes) and I engaged the auto system on the lowest setting. It was about 82F outside and I kept raising the inside temp . It was set to 80F but was still only blowing cold air.

There's this thing called the Noggle. Seems way overpriced for a HVAC hose and some plastic fittings.

Now I am confused they are not connected to the hvac system?
No, they're not. I thought it a bit odd myself. The only purpose I could fathom was that they are supposed to funnel air (cold or warm) from the front to the rear.

Bob,
The vents under the drivers and passenger seat are ABSOLUTELY connected to the HVAC system and
direct AV and heated air under the seats to the rear of the cabin.
When the floor setting is selected as pictured below

I have a hybrid XLT. That is all I can speak to.
I do not know about XL or Lariat.
That is how it works on mine. I just checked and verified tonight. It is not a huge volume, but it does work.
Take care
