Good solution but if the vents just let out heat this wouldn’t be useful for cooling. Can anyone confirm?
I believe that what ever temperature setting you have will be distributed out any/all vents you select

Active X pleather the only reason I did not buy a Lariat.
Yesterday it was 115°-117° here in the desert southwest.
I am over being burned, sweating with real or fake leather. I do not spent that kind of money on a vehicle and hate the place where I sit. Tacky seat covers are an unacceptable solution on a new vehicle to me.
If ford offered pleather delete. I would have bought a Lariat.
I'm in central TX and just had an 8-day 100 degree plus run. Remote start made it a non-issue. Not quite as hot but hot.

Ford does A/C well. Even out of just the front vents, the entire truck cools down fairly quickly in the Alabama summers.

Everytime I get into the Mav in hot weather the wife reminds me it does not have vents in the back. Her Subie does, I think she does it to annoy me. Now, do you have to chose the air coming out of the foot area for it to work. For ac I always have it come out the in your face vents. Heat always use the footwell setting. I never knew we did have them

I've seen the "Jewel Cooler" before...
im thinking more of Seat Coolers.
Florida and Lariat seats do not play well together. Can singe your legs getting in on a good day
Amazon has a good selection of seat coolers. I got one that has USB powered fans. About $50 each

If you look under the front seats you'll find vents that feed air from the front to the rear. They're not connected to the A/C; they just transfer the air to the rear. I would imagine they would work better running the A/C through the floor vents.

The floor vents vent whatever you select for the floor vents be it heat or A/C.

If you want to cool the backseat try combining floor vents and defrost settings when you turn on the A/C, it'll blow through the underseat vents and up the windshield/roof into the back seat.

Now I am confused they are not connected to the hvac system?

I'm not sure why you want cold air distributed under the seats to the back. Hot air rises and cold air drops, so you want the cold air in the back coming from the roof, not the floor. The defrost and the normal front vent settings will do that pretty effectively. You can override it with the floor setting, but why have cold feet and a hot body?

My escape has vents on the back end of the center console that direct air in the back when the controls are set to the dashboard vents. I'm not sure that there's a direct replacement or change that could be made to give this feature to the Maverick though.

In the old days, we'd set the center vents to blow straight back and then crank the fan up a notch or two to get some air circulating in the back.

Tacky seat covers are an unacceptable solution on a new vehicle to me.
Fortunately I didn't buy tacky seat covers. That would have been a sticky situation! ;-)

Seriously, though, the Ford front seat covers are a custom fit, and look very nice. I've had mine installed for over a year now and they still look great. They are a lot more comfortable to sit on when first getting into the vehicle, no burning your legs in the summer, and no shock of freezing cold against your legs in the winter (the heated seats help a lot with that too when you remember to remote start the truck).

I probably would have done cloth seats in the Lariat if that was an option, but the current setup has worked out very well for me.

no pets or perishables, just a cranky child that sits back there and likes to complain.
Yep. The child has to sit in the center of the backseat to get any comfort, and the center isn't carseat friendly.

Master Blaster,
In general if my feet are cold. I'm cold. If my feet are toasty warm I'm warm.
The lesser extent hands too.
