If the battery is dead and the doors and windows are locked how do you unlock them. I am a new owner and don't see anything in the manual? Thx for your help.

Thx for your reply. Sorry to mislead you but my concern is if I am inside the car and the battery is dead how do I unlock the doors/and windows to exit the car.
The door handles always open the doors from the inside unless you have the child lockouts engaged, whether the door is locked or not. It is a manual operation not dependent on battery.

The windows you are out of luck with, just like on any other modern car with power windows.

In that situation, you would have to go the Dave Bowman route from "2001 A Space Odyssey" and start removing the fuses from the fuse box beneath the passenger floor board.................

Seriously though, manually, from the inside, you can open the doors.

if the child lockouts are engaged how do you open the rear doors with a dead battery?

Would seem to be problematic.

Love it!! There is a reason for my numerour HAL 9000 references. When I first saw this movie. I was in awe. The idea of colonizing on the moon was a real thing. We had already circled the moon and would land on it in July of 1969. The movie "2001; A Space Odyssey" came out in 1968.

The concept of a computer controlled world was frightening to me and my friends, so seeing the movie made it seem so real! And HAL's voice..............creepy and controlling. HAL's eye was everwhere. HAL knew and watched everything. HAL controlled life support on the ship. HAL was programmed to think on its own and to follow the mission statement............no matter what!

So here we are, in 2024. We have robots that are being built right now with super computer chips, that have eyes that can read our emotional responses and form opinions. We have AI that scoures the internet to find out who we are, what we like, why we buy what we buy.

I never thought we would be where we are, but truly, when you think about it, HAL is here. He is all around us. So, in pulling fuse #11, it is so similar to the scene in the movie when Bowman is in the computer room and pulling HAL's memory banks. What a world we live in!! And remember, this movie was made in 1968!!
