By your reply, others can see the same for you. How about being constructive and figuring away to one get it out of the ditch? Two to figure away to correct this issue and allow EV's to be pulled from a ditch and or diverse terrain? Until then it's a major issue that shouldn't be ignored or made fun of. I do like the humor in your post though.

Yep. There are ways to extract things other than just "forcefully."

Maybe the skillset isn't in the area. Maybe the ROI isn't there. Maybe both.

But if your Raptor ends up in a ditch like that, it isn't going to be necessarily environmentally-friendly, and there is going to be the same long hard talk with an insurance company.

don't blame the truck. Blame the stupid owner who got it stuck.
I disagree accidents happen for several reasons, road conditions and majority is trying to avoid a collision. Many deaths occur each year from drivers trying to avoid collision with animals and losing control. Unfortunately accidents happen it's a given, not so much if but when.

Perhaps that should have been your original post.

Why, it will depend how someone interprets it, or how it is perceived. Until they can fix this issue it is indeed another reason not to own a EV.

The manufacturers are just looking for ways to make money and producing them. Unlike conventional cars just needing bumpers, seat belts, and air bags. EV needs the same but more like the article describes and the additional weight for the batteries which can contribute to unsafe conditions. It appears so far manufacturers are not trying to make them safe but affordable or more profitable.

But that's just it - it isn't a reason not to own an EV, unless a certain number of conditions exist. It's definitely a thing one may want to consider, before buying a certain kind of EV, depending on one's location.

I don't know what the take rate for EVs is in that part of Arizona, but around here there are a LOT of Teslas (mostly 3/Y/S models). It is not uncommon for me to look up (highway, side street, everything in between) and see two Model 3s of the same color, side by side, in the lanes behind me. No one is off-roading their Model 3s, especially around here, but I am positive the local FDs and first responders have been and are being trained because of the prevalence of these vehicles. All that said, an EV still doesn't make sense for our family at this time, for several reasons.

Anyway, I'm just trying to say that there are surely a lot of things to consider when shopping EVs - but I'm not sure I would rule them out as a class of vehicle across the board just because yahoos in one part of the world don't know anything other than hooking up a strap to a diesel dually and using brute force.
