Wow, this is the exhaust on the new Maverick truck we are building. Crazy! Not a single flange or joint in 12' of tubing and three "mufflers". Truck has a single cat in the very short downpipe right after the turbo. Going to be some great improvements opening this system up, tubing is only about 2-3/8" OD. The plan is a full 3" system, it will be built in multiple sections so it can be easily shipped, one single muffler and improved ground clearance, the exhaust is the lowest thing on the truck.

Dave, I was worried that an aftermarket exhaust would be lower than factory unless you used oval pipe. You think you can tuck it up tighter? Can’t wait to see it!

edit: video is working for me now. Maybe it takes a bit to render or something

Tips out the back or you plan on keeping it hidden?

So the round piece we see at the end is another muffler / resonator and the cat is tucked up there next to the drive shaft connection?

Video works fine for me, but its nothing exciting just showing the catback.

You may not even need a muffler, just a resonator. The length of tubing, cat, and turbo themselves can muffle quite a bit.

Cheapest option would be to just cut out the last two proper mufflers and have your shop replace the now missing sections with a straight pipe. Probably get 95% of the benefit, some weight savings, and cool sound for a fraction of the cost.

Is the exhaust the same for the FWD only Maverick? The FWD version wouldn't have the driveshaft in the hump, so there would be room/more room for the exhaust.

Sheesh, gonna hurt some engineers' feelings with posts like this 😢

Starting from the rear it is a resonator, muffler, underbody catalyst, then flex-pipe.

AWD exhaust is different from FWD, as it has to route around the rear subframe aft of the muffler.

Seems different from what OP states

three "mufflers". Truck has a single cat in the very short downpipe right after the turbo.
Are there 2 cats? One that's being called a "muffler" here?

OP is mistaken 🤷‍♀️ Rearmost oval can is a resonator. Large can under the fuel tank is a muffler. Circular can under the driver's feet is a catalyst.

Seemed just fine to me when I drove the EB. Actually I could barely hear it. Not everyone wants their Maverick to sound like a tuba.

I would leave it alone. Maybe replace the resonator with a magnaflow resonator. Ecoboost engines do not sound good, no matter what you do, and they sound terribl straight pipes, as 710-oil-614 demonstrated

I knew that when I first saw the underside video that was posted. Why the exhaust goes under the rear differential is a real mystery. None of the other trucks do this and there is plenty of room above for it to be placed. This is just begging for a flattened exhaust pipe.

Gotta say one thing “good” about that factory exhaust: The bends aren’t pinched like exhausts bent at your local muffler shop. Looks smooth flowing, albeit a small diameter.
