Anybody else hoping their current vehicle lasts until your Maverick arrives?

Are you limping your car along to the finish line?

Filler post I know, but I was curious to see if anybody else was like me. I have a 2010 Focus with 155,000 miles on her and while she still performs, she is aging horribly. Between the suspension replacement and the subsequent re-boring of the front steering knuckles, i'm in more on this car than I will probably get for my trade in. I'm just hoping I can limp her along until I get my Mav.

So my question is, what are you driving and are you going to make it to your Maverick?

My original choice to trade-in (2006 Honda Element) didn't make it. Now I'm driving option #2 and hoping it will hang in there until next year.

Wife and I only have one car so we're keeping it with the Mav.

That is unusual where I live.....my wife and I both must have a vehicle.

'09 Optima (first new car) with 200,352 miles and still going strong. My Hybrid is "in production", build date of the 18th and should be in a holding lot now. My oldest is getting the Kia when my Maverick comes in so I'm not worried about it.

I voted "might make it."

My car is actually solid; 2014 Jetta with 94,000, looks pristine and drives tight.
But my son is driving an '06 Mini with 130k that's costing me money every other month. I'm planning to deep-six the Mini and pass the Jetta on to him when the Mav comes in.

Hope I don't have to sink any more money into that Mini.

Son is student teaching (unpaid) so I get to keep maintaining the Mini until he gets a paid gig.

It might get there if I don't kill it ahead of time.

Went out the with boys Friday and was so excited to get there I whipped into my buddy's driveway and blasted the rock before his retaining wall that stops you from blasting his retaining wall (I've pulled in hundreds of times).....

As of now i"m looking at about $750 for a new bumper cover after it's painted and I install it.

Sold my Mustang back in June. Been using the '97 CR-V with ~250k miles for now. Just made a 400 mile trip with it having no issues. Little better off than I thought. Wasn't sure it was going to make it.

My 2011 Kia Soul creaks like an old person’s joints, but I think January is doable!

Wife and I also share one car and we both have professional careers, and two crazy busy kids. We bought our home specifically so I could walk to work and now I work primarily from home. We also bike a lot (the grocery store, kids' sports practices, parks, library, etc.). It was a lifestyle decision, and one of the best we've ever made. We don't need a 2nd car, but we'll keep the current car (only has ~57k miles) as the primary commuter whenever the Maverick comes.

It was a nail biter between last Thursday when I test drove the maverick till I picked it up Sunday. Stupid jeep wrangler had something wrong with the torque converter (buzzing at 40mph) and think the other front wheel bearing was bad (replaced right one over the summer. I Had to replace the rad previous week (3rd one). Worst thing was it was a 2014 with 121 000km and never off roaded :( . Sad to let it go but it was time.

My current vehicle already didn't make it (2017 Chevy Cruze with 170k on it). My original plan was to have already bought a Chevrolet Bolt, but I was unable to complete the transaction before the stop sale went into effect. So I have been at a standstill with that for 3 months. Now I have decided to put a deposit on another piece of unobtanium - the Maverick, and will be waiting until spring. In the meantime, my Cruze decided that Friday was a good day to die, not willing to wait for the already scheduled appointment this Thursday.

My wife is a rural route carrier and our kids go to school 30 miles away. But I love where I live. It's worth everything
