Yep, on my first Maverick, 77 model. You "sensed" no water when you pressed on the switch and your wipers smeared the windshield.Windshield washer fluid sensor. Wow. I must be old.

The only airbag in my 77 Maverick was my then wife. New Maverick and new wife these days....same airbag issue when wife is along unfortunately.I agree, used to be you'd know it was empty when stuff stopped coming out of it! Of course, those were the days when you checked the tire pressures and popped the hood to check the coolant and oil before you took a 3 hour trip. Times sure have changed but you can see why vehicle costs have gone up so much... airbags, TP sensors, auto headlight sensors, washer fluid sensors, etc.
Careful, you might get recalled for an airbag issue! The only airbag in my 77 Maverick was my then wife. New Maverick and new wife these days....same airbag issue when wife is along unfortunately.
I live in snow country and have had my Maverick for 2 years and have never personally filled the reservoir. I do take the truck in for regular service where it probably gets topped off and it seems fine in between. It appears that the reservoir holds about 1 1/2 - 2 cups or 12 - 16 ounces. It is as small as the 1970’s era cars that used a soft bag like reservoir. There are plenty of places under the hood for a larger container on my hybrid. Disappointing. Glad I no longer live in snow country. Anyone else out there notice this?
I love my Maverick but, this could have better.
You're not old unless you drove a vehicle with a foot actuated washer pump......LOLWindshield washer fluid sensor. Wow. I must be old.
WOW! Can't believe someone else has the same problem as I do! Got my '24 Mav XLT AWD in Dec and within two weeks my wiper fluid light came on. Hard to believe as I don't remember using the wiper solvent once! Filled it up but really didn't take notice of how much I put in. 3 weeks later it comes on again. I had used it a few times so I filled it up again. Then AGAIN less than a month later it comes on a 3rd time! I topped it off and put it in my garage. Next morning I popped the hood and the level was below what I could see and it just sat there overnight. Got appt with Ford dealer and they can't find a leak anywhere! So I asked them in no uncertain terms...where in the hell is the fluid going then? 2230 miles and I've filled up the reservoir 3 times! He showed me something interesting and lifted the hood, topped of the tank and then turned on the sprayer...the fluid level dropped at least 2 inches! For ONE spray! It appears that the reservoir holds about 1 1/2 - 2 cups or 12 - 16 ounces. It is as small as the 1970’s era cars that used a soft bag like reservoir. My 2020 F-150 will take exactly one gallon of fluid. Have to wait until no more fluid comes out, but one gallon always fits. For some reason all of the reservoirs in Ford vehicles will not take a full gallon of fluid. It has been like that for years. My Jeeps have all been like that also.

Can anyone tell me where the hell the fluid is going??????
I still have a snoop under the hood, check the tires and take a peek under the vehicle when I'm going on a long trip. I check the tire pressure in the spare too, I may be a bit of a fool but it only takes one time having a flat and finding the spare is also flat to learn that lesson!I agree, used to be you'd know it was empty when stuff stopped coming out of it! I am having the same issue on my new 2024 Maverick EB.
That's not true. I've filled mine twice. I still had washer fluid and the tank took nearly a gallon in both cases. i DON'T WHERE YOU GUYS GET THIS.It appears that the reservoir holds about 1 1/2 - 2 cups or 12 - 16 ounces.
