As little advertising Ford ones with the Maverick, I was surprised to see this today.

You know someone has been waiting like a year and a half for this exact model and is fuming right now. 😜

Yes, the winners have to pay income tax on their winnings. I would bet that many "winners" have to sell their prizes to do that. And, at prices way under the value of the prize.
While they are jumping up and down, that $10,000 tax bill is not what they are thinking about. Plus the question of, "Where the hell am I going to put a hot tub in a one bedroom apartment?"

Was it an EB?

They always have the odd models of vehicles on there.

Either way, wouldn't winning something like this force you to pay a tax on it?
yep it's all taxable unless the show decided to pony up the taxes on it which happens about never. But, it's ok, hey on a 30k truck they pay probably fed 20 perc + whatever state tax so who's not interested in getting a brand new ride at 75 percent off?

Hello Tom tucker(like from family guy?)I chose your post as random to ask this question being a new member to the maverick truck club site but been following it since the order placed of my maverick in July of 23 for my 2024 xlt.question is how or where are those questions that I can fill in that appear on many people's post at the bottom that have their maverick info such as order date, build and ship date, options on vehicle etc.i thank you in advance of said info.
Yeah, Family Guy. Go to account details, choose signature and edit it there.

Can it be done in payments? I assume the majority of people don't have the cash to throw at a prize they won lol.

lol I always seen people so happy to get BS prizes on that show. Just once I'd like to see someone with a real expression. Like "wtf is this crap? I don't need women's handbags and shoes." Then bid something ridiculous and just walk off.

That's half the reason I think most of them are paid actors anyways.

I think they have to pony up by the following years tax filing deadline unless you opt for and get some payment plan from the IRS - they do charge interest on the balance but it does give you a chance to pay it off over a couple years. You can apply for a short or long term payment plan, interest is pretty reasonable even today - it's 3 percent a year, so it does give people (if approved) a good way to pay off the taxes without having to sell the prize.

So a few thoughts:

1- I think cars are donated (bought cheap by Price is Right) by dealerships and not the manufacturer?

2- I wonder if people hearing the truck is that inexpensive will increase demand a little bit more?

3- Hearing "2 liter engine" without "ecoboost" or "turbo" sounds lame to me...
