I have one in every car I have (currently three). You can pick them up from Harbor Freight or Amazon for under $100, and they work really, really well. They hold a change for months too. Really good insurance, and a much better option than jumper cables (and no need to find someone to jump from). Just make sure you read the owners manual to understand the correct points under the hood to attach the jump pack to.

I have bought eight of the chargers (other brands) one for my partner and one each for my daughters and stepdaughters and one for my sports car and Maverick. I have one extra that I dropped and broke its case but still works. It stays in the garage. I’ve used them many times and on other people’s cars. They are a great gift for anyone who owns a vehicle.

Had one years ago. Never had a use for it, and it died after 4 years in the trunk, Now that I have a Maverick Hybrid I still don't need or want one.

I have the GB40 but not much luck with it. I have a 1999 Lexus ES300 which has a slow electrical drain which discharges the battery. When the Battery is dead on that and on a 2007 honda fit It does not like to start. Also my 1981 Case 648 tractor with an 18 hp onan I could never get a jump start either. So either the unit is defective or too weak. Or your battery you are jumping needs a minimal charge in it to work. I would get a larger capacity for use in winter because you want it to work in the worst conditions.

After hearing horror stories of Maverick hybrids with starting issues, I got a VTOMAN X1 2500A from Amazon ($80 on a Prime Day sale - regular price is down to that now, plus they have discounts) months before I even got my Maverick. It can jump start, has a flashlight/emergency light, and an air compressor.

I've yet to use it once. I pulled it out to check the charge last week (mid March) as my kid was concerned she'd have to jump start her car. I've had it since July - charge was still showing as 100%.

I guess it's worth it - $80 for peace of mind. If I ever actually get to use it to jump start something, and it works, then I'll be more confident it was worth it, and probably consider getting one for every car in the family.

I have one battery pack in the Mav and one in the F-150; different brand. No need to spend this much since there are much cheaper alternatives, and they all work pretty much the same.

Exactly. Buying the expensive name brand isn't any better. Like buying a Ferrari to go 3 blocks to the grocery store.

Normally I would agree with this statement, but personally I only buy name brand electronics that have large lithium batteries due the potential of fire while charging!

I carry a Lokithor 2250 in each vehicle. I flat refuse to jump anything from my vehicles but more than willing to boost them from my jump starter. For me, these modern vehicles are much too computerized to jumper from. Why take chances. Shit always happens.

I would say look for a product that usitlizes LifePo4 batteries over Lithium Ion. Much safer to charge and use. Longer life too which is nice.

Look into the Halo brand products too~~ some have air compressor feature also to help on tires as well as the Jump start capability ~~ has built in feature so it alerts you if you have hooked cables to wrong battery posts. Reasonablely priced, worth every penny~~ saved me many times, have one in each vehicle. Can also use USB ports to charge cell phones, etc

I have a GB40 and it works great. Even jump started a riding mower once with it. You don't need it until you need it. Amazon routinely puts these on sale. I got mine for about $70 IIRC.
