I haven't really been programming any, I can do them but it does take time since everyone has a different setting they need adjusted

Just to update I've got about 18,000 miles on my Ford Explorer dash.

It does show awd display . Has a extra drive mode as well, maybe 2 I can't remember.

I have turned on the *off road* gauges to show angle and all that.

The cluster doesn't mount right up like the escape. I have to take a grinder to 2 of the aluminum tabs and cut them off and use the escape cluster "glass bezel".

There was a firmware update to the escape dashes that add the AWD display. And forscan can do it but I don't know that much about doing that kind of update.
I have a 2023 Tremor. Do you have any idea how much of the Tremor features I would lose by getting an all digital cluster and installing it? Any idea if it could be programmed in? Thanks in advance for any help.

Ordered a 2020 Escape Titanium full digital gauge cluster and plugged it into my maverick, and it worked instantly. No need to do any programming to get it working, however, I'm getting a ton of fault codes from not having a lot of things that the top model Escape has vs my XL Maverick.

I will keep this as updated as I can, but at this moment the biggest issue I've ran into, is the gas gauge is only capable of showing half tank. I had quarter tank when I put the cluster in, and the new cluster was showing an 8th tank. When I filled the truck up, it was showing half tank, and I know it was full.

Update 2/2/2022: I can access call logs, the current music shows up, trip/fuel economy/seat belts work as normal

What doesn't work as of now: Full tank of gas, Calm screen, toggling of drive modes, and cruise only turns on when at a full stop. While driving I cannot turn the cruise control on, but once stopped and turned on, it works like normal.

Hey, I am wondering if you still have your Maverick and the Escape digital cluster installed? What was the solution for the fuel gauge correction? I am hoping it's programming within ForScan as that would be super easy. My apologies if I missed the answer already posted in here.

The fuel gauge seems to just be a matter of setting it from 2 fuel level senders (as the Escape has) to the Maverick's one. On a Tremor at the very least I'd expect you might lose Hill Descent Control.

Ok, That makes the fuel gauge easy enough. I was hoping someone had figured out if any of the off road stuff could be programmed in by saving the coding form the as built on the original Maverick cluster and loading that save file into the escape instrument cluster or if I was just SOL..

Alright boys and girls. We have working drive modes now.

It looks like there is a translation difference between the IPC from an escape and the ABS from a maverick.

Posting the fix now and will elaborate in another post, my findings once I am back at my computer.

You need to have Normal drive mode and Mud drive mode disabled. It translates differently on the IPC. This has now let me change drive modes as normal while the truck is on and running.

Proof!!

Does this mean that I won't be able to have the off road drive modes (Mud/Ruts, etc) on my truck as it came from the factory being a Tremor?

Anyone getting this code with a Hybrid Lariat?

Looking to resolve it. I’m assuming it’s related to a drive mode. I have Normal, Slippery, Eco and Sport enabled.

ABS C1109:64-28

Code: C1109 - Vehicle Dynamics Control Switch
Additional Fault Symptom :)64):
- Signal Plausibility Failure
Status (-28):
- Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC
Module: Antilock braking system
Freeze Frame =1:

Hey all, I'm still digging down the rabbit hole on this one. I did happen to get a working hybrid cluster (LJ6T-10849-DKK) with 22k miles on it if anyone is interested. Junk yard sent me the wrong part and doesn't want it back. I'm down for a swap, I need one for an FWD EB. or if anyone wants to buy it off me feel free to message.

On a side note has anyone confirmed if a LJ6T-10849-DEK will work on the EB? is the only difference the selection of M instead of L? Does this cause issues or is it just visual?

Thanks in advance.
I have a working instrument cluster w/o manual that will work on the Ecoboost Maverick. I accidentally got the wrong one, I needed it for a hybrid. I would be willing to trade.

Doesn't look like your question was answered... for now, yes, you lose mud/ruts....and also lose tow/haul if you have the 4k tow package. I have not been able to get the intelligent awd screen or hill descent to work either. I am waiting for someone smarter than me to figure it out  .

Thanks for your reply. I figured as much. I am sure there is a way to keep all of that stuff. I, like you, am waiting for someone smarter than I to figure it out. LMAO

So I have a XL and was looking for a escape or even a lariat maverick cluster, but most have higher mileage. YES I've read that people can flash them, but thats another step that can be avoided if I find one that's close in mileage. My question is: When I schedule a service online, it automatically pulls up my mileage from Ford pass. Will I run into any problems or will Ford pass just show whatever the cluster shows?

I finally got a chance to install my explorer platinum 12” cluster. I started off with an escape 12” cluster that I got cheap locally. It worked great and was only 600 miles more than my odometer at the time. So I waited until I was over the escape’s mileage and then installed it in my 2024 Maverick XLT FX4. I was able to increase the mileage on the escape cluster to match my current odometer. I didn’t realize at first that I would lose tow/haul mode and snow/sand mode. I struggled to get the drive modes to work on my truck. I followed all of the recommendations in this post with forscan and spen at least another hour trying different settings. I could select a drive mode and it would work as long as the truck wasn’t started. Once I started the truck I couldn’t change the drive mode. Not even go back to normal.

So with that issue and losing the 2 modes I decided to find an explorer cluster. It was harder to find a deal on the explorer one, but got a decent deal on eBay. Unfortunately they didn’t list mileage on the listing, so I didn’t know what I was getting. When I received it I found that the mileage was about 30,000 more than my current odometer. I messaged Dave with @Clusters by Livnitup. I had Dave do 2 previous clusters for me in the past for my F-150s. He said he wasn’t sure if he could correct the explorer mileage, but would give it a shot. Luckily he was able to adjust the mileage to match my predicted odometer reading when I would receive it back.

Last night I removed the escape cluster and tried to install the explorer cluster. I kind of had a feeling based on other people’s experience the explorer cluster wouldn’t mount with out some modifications. The main issue with the explorer cluster is the clear lens housing for some reason is a little bigger than the escape/maverick cluster. I figured it was worth a shot to swap the lens from the escape cluster to the explorer cluster. That worked with a little trimming of the plastic tabs where the bottoms bolts mount to the dash. I also had to make the aluminum tabs for the bottom bolts a little smaller. The explorer cluster has 2 bolt holes in the bottom tabs and the escape/ maverick only have one bolt hole. I used a cut off wheel on a dremel to trim the aluminum tabs. After cleaning the cluster and lens really good to remove the debris from the cutoff wheel I test fit it. Luckily with the slight modifications it fit just as it should.

Once installed I tested the drive modes and all of the drives modes were there as they would be on a stock maverick cluster. I also test starting the truck and selecting and going thru the drive modes. Everything worked as it should.

So for anyone curious the explorer cluster will work with all drive modes. Down side is the slight modifications. I preferred not to modify the truck and that’s why I modified the cluster.

I'm attaching some photos, I wish I would’ve taken more pics. But you can see in some of them how the bottom tabs are different between the two vehicles. The pictures of the cluster removed show the explorer Lens on the escape

My only real gripe is that the normal mode doesn’t have the tach on the right side like the escape cluster does. Different modes have it on the right. But not normal or eco mode. I’m wondering if a firmware update would change that. But I doubt I’ll ever be able to get the firmware updated.

I just installed a 2022 escape hybrid and everything on the screen looks great. But I’ve got 5 battery related codes that won’t clear in the IPC
Got to keep looking answers
It was pretty much plug and play

Does the Explorer cluster allow traction control to still be turned on and off with the console mounted button?

The escape cluster doesn’t allow for it

Of note, that one is specifically from an Escape plug-in hybrid. Note the empty battery symbol and the "-- mi" next to it (that's where it would show the battery state of charge and the estimated electric only range). Might have something to do with your codes.
