I don't want to split hairs with anybody here but technically the powertrain warranty is 5/60 along with the roadside assist, while the hybrid components are 8/100. At any rate he's still good at 35K but still sucks big time.

Get it fixed. Sell it on your own. You’ll get a good price for a hybrid even with the repairs. You’ve got a valuable vehicle that everyone wants you just got a lemon go buy another one. Is my advice. My 23 has been perfect.

The gas tank started leaking where the filler tube meets the gas tank three weeks ago. Got a new gas tank. Now I noticed a shaking in my front wheels when accelerating. Took it to the dealer and he said the Truck needs a new transmission. Something to do with the flywheel in the transmission. I have to wait four weeks for a new tranny. Ready to get rid of this truck with all the problems and recalls.
Hello there. Can you send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you are working with? I would like to see what I can do to assist with your Maverick's repairs.

Almost sounds like the dampener issue, when the OP mentioned 'flywheel', however that usually is accompanied by a rather noticeable clatter noise at idle, particularly when cold. - Which requires remove of the transaxle/transmission, but not replacement to my knowledge.

If the dealer fixes it successfully then it's not a lemon. Lemon laws are for unresolvable issues.
Lemon laws differ by state, which is why I wrote "... in your state". Obviously you considered that option. In my state, CA, the lemon law includes a cumulative time period during which a vehicle is out of service and unavailable due to problems such that serial problems, which sounds like what your vehicle has, constitutes a lemon in CA.

My Mav is my first Ford product ever. I think a variety of issues conspired to make some early models more trouble-prone than normal. COVID, the supply chain issues caused by COVID, chip shortages, etc. etc. Anyway, good luck in your quest for a replacement. Too bad the competition has not yet produced alternatives to what is a success in the marketplace - a small truck.

Man that sucks to have back to back issues like that. How did they diagnose it being a transmission issue out of curiosity? Like someone else said, there are known issues with the CV's too but it could have easily stemmed beyond them and into the PTU/Tranny. It doesn't take much to start the chain of events...

At least keep us informed please.

The fire engine recall looks to be available fall 2024. Hope mine makes it to then...

I don't think the hybrid powertrain has a flywheel. It might be the CV axles. Do you have another dealer nearby to get a second diagnosis?
Most likely the damper between the ice and the actual tranny???

Ditto for me. I am so concerned about the longevity of the hybrid mav's. This drivetrain is taken mostly from the Fusion and Escape, so it should not have as many problems as we are seeing.
My engine destroyed itself at 7800 miles. Now there are mystery noises from the engine compartment. CANNOT wait to get rid of this thing.
Carvana has the best offer so far.

No Issues on My 22 Hybrid yet 35K Sorry to hear your issues. Seems like most folks have had good luck. I would look at your state lemon law

My 22 was a problem child. Swapped it out for 24. No issues yet. Covid vechiles. Had poor quality control on suppiers. 24 are being checked alot more before they leave the manufacturer.
0 defect policy went into effect. I got my money back on the 22.
I am thinking of the same thing. Trading in my problematic 22 for a 24. However the wait is so long, the 25's will be out by the time I get a 24, and I will have a lot more miles on my 22 by then to hurt its value. Still thinking....

Update: bought an extended warrantee from Granger Ford. Still waiting for my new tranny. The dealer said around March 23rd.
Doesn't the manufacturer warranty that comes with the truck, cover the truck tranny for 5 years/60000 milles. So no need to use the extended warranty. Right?
