No HVAC for Fordpass remote start?

So what is the point of remote start if the HVAC system doesn't do anything? Just to warm the engine?

I just remote started my '24 Lariat in 15F weather, when I got in the drivers seat and steering wheel heat were both on, and not pre-set by me.

Maybe I am missing something, but it appears to work for me everytime. In the summer it cools the cabin and in the winter warms the cabin.

Maybe mine is just so much slower to warm up while idling than while driving that I think the HVAC is turned off after a FP RS. Still, if the system is on, it's strange that all climate control lights would be off!

Remote start shuts off after 10 minutes and really anything below 40 degrees - 10 minutes is not long enough to reach operating temperatures so there is no reason for the HVAC to fire.

I agree with you about the preference for the truck to use the time to "heat itself" before heating the interior (and that is what I see mine doing often on very cold mornings), but gotta also comment with a minor correction. 15 minutes is the standard remote start timer. And you can hit one button to extend it another 15 for a total of 30 minutes. I often remote start and then immediately extend it to 30 minutes just in case I get distracted and don't quite make it out of the house within the first 15. For some reason I cringe if I remote start and then don't make it out to the truck before it turns itself off.

Ford indicates its 15/30 max too. I would like to default the time to 15 if possible that would be better than the 10.

This is my feeling as well, especially with the seat warmers.

Can't speak to the summertime temps (haven't owned it long enough to try) but it is counterintuitive to start your vehicle in cold weather and immediately turn your HVAC on - it takes heat away from your engine and prolongs the time it takes to reach operating temps.

Heated seats and steering wheel do heat up. Unfortunately - if you bought a poverty edition those are the breaks.

I have the Lariat and my seats do not heat up. Even if I've left them on the previous day.

Mine is, or was, 15 min by default with the app. I haven't noticed if it's changed.

The fob remote start could have a different setting from the app, though.

Of course the screenshot was from the app; I just meant a 15-min reference to the fob remote start in the owner's manual didn't necessarily mean such an option existed on the app.

That is......weird. Really weird. I had a late production 2022 XL, and now have a mid-production 2023 XL. Both were the 15/30 settings by default. I would say "ask Ford", but I doubt that would get anywhere.

What is it set to in the vehicle itself? On the IC display Menu > Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > Duration can be set to 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

To add to this, there’s a remote start setting in the dash menu to select the temperature. Mine is currently set to something along the lines of auto sense. When it’s hot out, it turns on the AC and then heat when it’s cold.
