2023 Mav's Hybrid fire recall?

I am one of the lucky people who MIGHT have a Mav that could catch fire because of a bad crank shaft that should never of been in the factory to be accidentally used. Anyways, I can trade it in on another mav i have coming in, But my son loves it. "Or will the dealer take it?" and if they do I have been told they can't sell it till it is fixed? Is any of this true and what would you do? If you have any ideas... Thanks

The dealer has the means to fix it, they don't care if there's a current recall. They'll fix it before resale.

A crank shaft? thats an engine rebuild? I'm an x mechanic from the 70's New engine might be easier. .lol

Only a few localities have restrictions on the sale of used vehicles with an open recall.

I don't know, it's not your problem after you trade it in.

Ford dealer gets the parts and they get paid from Ford to perform the recall. Should be no issue to them.

I'm not sure that is a local issue.. I think it is a Ford the company issue... Think if someone dies after they sold a truck they knew could catch fire? Not going to court to defend that...lol

Plenty of used 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrids listed as being sold online at Ford dealerships so clearly there isn't.

These crank shafts as i understand where originally put in 2022 escapes.. but some were left over after that recall and ended up in maybe my maverick But knowing how people love to go to court, has anyone yet been hurt badly or killed i don't think so.. but the vehicles were toast...

The Escape Crankshaft issue was a specific traceable event in crankshaft finishing that affected 2021 Escape Hybrid engines. The recall that affects the Maverick/Escape/Corsair was (at least according to Ford's documentation) more generally the crankshaft machining/finishing operations and foreign contamination during engine assembly required improvement.

Where are these used hybrids? There are none for sale within 400km of me.

Cars.com has 110 2022 Hybrids for sale nationwide. I didn't count precisely how many were for sale at a Ford dealership (the majority are), but the assertion that there's some Ford Corporate Stop Sale in place isn't the case.

There is no official fix from Ford, so no the dealers aren't going to do anything. They won't get paid to do the job by Ford. Doing it themselves would cost more than the dealerships profit margin on the truck, unless they have 10k markups.
