How cool! It was only a matter of time. Competitors will follow suit.

According to the Crutchfield website, it is not compatible with Mavericks. Am I missing something?

You have to buy the pioneer head unit AND the AXPIO-MAV1 kit --> "Designed to fit Pioneer® 6.8” modular receivers, like the DMH-WC5700NEX"

ADD the iDatalink Maestro RR interface for all the Steering Wheel Controls, Media Player (including the factory AUX-in and USB ports), Hands-Free Telephone, Voice Commands, Satellite Radio, and Secondary Display Support

Basically need head unit, install kit, and iDatalink to get all the features

Bigger screen would be great.
It's coming. Ford's cheapness works both ways.

They MY25 refresh will no doubt have a larger screen that will attach to the same dashboard using the same hardware and connector.......

We might have to pay $1,500 for it, but it'll be 3 screws and a connector.

I'd be perfectly happy with the system that comes from Ford, if only I had my Maverick that has been on order for over 15 months!

Back in the day...

You know, back when Rock & Roll was still good...

I would have been all over this, but now I use my phone, Bluetooth, and Pandora to listen to music, the quality sucks and I don't even care. I sincerely hope every young man can get at least one exceptionally good car stereo in his life and the Maverick seems like a good platform, but even though I have great memories of my high-end sound stuff, I've just lost interest. It's stock B&O stuff for me.

I feel the same with the exception of never having what most would consider "High End Audio" in any of my vehicles. Too cheap and too deaf most of my life.

Does it have AM, because that's all I listen to - news and weather.
And is that better than the stock Maverick radio that I already paid for?

If it makes maps viewable in bright light, it might be worth it. Or if Ford would release a software update that ups the brightness, that would work (unless the screen is really so cheap that its already 100%, which many of us doubt actually)

The SQ guys will be all over these, when they actually hit the market. More importantly, Maestro will finally be supporting the Maverick, so that opens up all the possibilities for those of us willing to do a little modification. I foresee a lot of Kenwood/Alpine/Pioneer headunits with 9-11" screens in the Maverick community's future :D

honestly, the only benefit I see over the stock B&O is the wireless android auto. but for $1000+ I'll live with the cable

If by "better" you mean better AM radio reception, your issue is probably with the small antenna, not the stock radio.
