You guys had me thinking you probably dont need to change the steering control module if they have the pins for the paddle shifters. Even on the XL .

Got to check my oem clockspring conector to verify this information. Might be easier than what i think.

The only way to know unplugged this conector and check if you see the pins on the module. It self.

The only benefits to the other steering control module its heated steering wheel function and lane departure.

I got the XL Cluster to show what gear the truck its in . If you let go of the gas the truck sometimes shifts automatically just to let you guys know. And 1st to 2 feels weird. Im going to setup soon my gopro and try to do a run on it to make sure theres no problems. Just giving you guys a heads up.

Well if you dont want the heated steering wheel . the Xl might work as it has the Pins on it. I just checked so i got to changed that on the fisrt page.

All your exploring and testing is getting fun - the fact that you now have the XL cluster displaying the gear is pretty cool - I mentioned in an earlier Post I have a 2017 Lincoln MKZ 3.0 ecoboost with paddle shifters. You mentioned the Maverick will upshift on its own sometimes when your using the paddle shifters - this is going to be fail safe programming from Ford not allowing you to over rev the engine and damage it , my Lincoln does the same thing - if you are wide-open throttle, using the paddle shifters, it should let you shift to redline -if you don’t use the paddle shifter at redline, the computer will take over and shift it - this is normal - my biggest take away is now you will be able to better control downshifting going down mountain passes - so keep up the good work 👍🏼 Maybe when you think you have things wrapped up, you can do another post on programming everything including the gear indicator on Forscan

PS - with lane departure engaged does the steering column have the little haptic vibration when you cross over the lane? Or is it visual on the cluster only?

When you start up the truck, how do you get into manual mode? Also did you use Forscan to get the shift indicator on the display, and to get it to shift with the paddles? Sorry for all the questions. I'm a car guy, but old skool with carburetors, and points. This seems pretty easy enough. I have swapped my wheel for a leather wrapped one, and know how to read schematics, and pin or un pin connectors. The computer end of it is where I am iffy on it.

once you click on the paddle shift it goes manual mode on drive. but im going to check something because i want to see if installing the gsm from another truck will be able to put it on manual mode insted of low.

I've seen that in forscan but assumed it was for manual optioned vehicles, is there a automagic Ford that has launch control equipped? EU gen 4 focus?... I'm trying to think 8 speed vehicles

Once the parts and wiring are installed, do you need Forscan to enable it to work,
