Is it just me?

None of the current line-up of colors excites me.

🤷🏻‍♂️
Personal preference but I'm not a fan of the "wet clay" colors that are popular these days.

Hot Pepper Red and Cyber Orange are by fav colors on the Maverick. I would jump on an Eruption Green though.

Azure is a little too purple for me.....
does have a slight hint of periwinkle in the shade doesn't it... I like it better in these photos than other's I've seen... In full sun, I've thought it appered a little baby blue in other photos... Weird what lighting and reflections can do...

I do like it more than I thought I would... I wasn't fond of Area51.

What can I say, of course my favorite color is CO but HPR would be a close second.

Both are attractive to me. Side by side subtle differences, but personally, (as an A51 owner) I don't know that I would pay extra the Azure color. I guess they could only charge by canceling the A51.

My '23 XLT hybrid is in Area 51, and I see a number of Mavericks on the road in that color so it appears to be very popular. Considering that the Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat is a $495 option, I think Ford decided to cash in on the popularity of Area 51. Things like this create a love/hate relationship with Ford.
I agree! Another example is Copilot 360 vs Copilot 360+ ( adaptive cruise control is inly with +) I mean the kid that sold me mine did not know the difference and during the test drive I almost crashed because it said “ oh yeah it will stop you automatically “ mine does not have ACC… that’s why I like Subaru as a company because they dont nit pick you to death so to speak lol in my case it almost was death… not funny ok

Finally found the neighborhood A51 so here's some side by sides of that next to my Azure Gray for y'all.

I like the azure! Kind of getting tired of all the A51s. Time for a change. 👍

Not bad, area 51 was one of the coolest paint colors in any modern mainstream car. But this is nice in its own way.

If you separate them it would be hard to tell the difference from a distance...
As a suggestion, next time include side-by-side pictures but if possible (as it appears it was at the time of your picture) leave one parking space between the two so that you're able to show all of the other Mav, but still capture both together as I did recently:

Ford Maverick Old VS New (Area 51 VS Azure Gray) 1700244366708

Nice Mavs by the way (y).

I like the new Azure Grey better, but it's so similar.

Ford probably saw how popular Area 51 was, changed it slightly to make it more expensive and get more $$$.

Agree completely. I have an Area 51 and I can't tell which is which from a distance either.

I wanted area 51, but I am not willing to pay extra for "fancy paint." For now I am stuck with Area Fifty-none until I actually get a build date.
Wife was happy though, she wanted cactus.
