I ordered the AVS Bugflector II from Realtruck, They told me there was no MTC discount on this product. While I could get the 2 ends in place, there was no lining up the 2 center tabs. I went through their warranty process and had a second one shipped. This time 3 out of 4 holes aligned, but when I tried to close the hood the wings that protect the fenders were actually hitting the fenders and keeping it from closing.

I got a full refund, this product needs a re-tooled mold!

Installed mine 3 weeks ago, the two center holes need to be around 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch farther back. I drilled two holes in the deflector to make it fit. Fits perfectly, once you create two new holes.....which shouldn't be necessary. - Same issue with the EGR, and one other (name escapes me), from what I've seen. They must have all used the same incorrect measurements, or mold.
Are the hood bumps necessary? Just wondering.

I ordered one of these awhile back for my Ranger. It came with deep scratches all over it. So I swapped it for another. Guess what it had as well? Scratches. Back it went and I went with a WeatherTech. Thanks for the heads up on the fit.
It seems like everything you buy nowadays comes scratched, scuffed, etc.

I got a mtc discount on mine about 18 months ago ( about $40 ) . surprise that they haven't modified these to fit correctly yet . I had to ream both center holes towards Hood to make mine fit . also missing some grommets that I couldn't get customer service at avs to replace . very poor customer service . ended up getting some from Amazon for about $5 . otherwise I like it and meets my want . so far so good . I personally wouldn't buy anything avs makes again .

Do you mean the 4 clear dots that come in the kit? I put mine on the backside of the deflector where I thought it might touch the paint (if I was driving over 120mph...lol). The deflector seems sturdy enough and far enough off the hood where you could go without using them. That is just my opinion. 🤟

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it. I. On the fence on this, but really want the protection they offer. However, just heard many complaints about the install and fit. I think I will still order one as long as I can return it if does not work.

My deflector fit pretty well, I believe that the earlier stock were the deflectors that had poorly aligned holes. I drilled on only one hole because the oblong hole in the deflector was only exposing 1/2 the hole in the hood. So all I did was make the hole in the deflector slightly larger. It was not a big deal at all. Now I just hope that it actually keeps bugs & rocks off my windshield. Good luck with yours!.. 🤟

P.S. Buy from the link in post #14, It will save you the $10 shipping fee that Real Truck charges.

Thanks again. I'll give a shot.

I just recieved an AVSII that none of the holes lined up. AVS didnt believe it,they made me cut it in half and send pictures of same. I have a new one being delivered today from Real Truck this time. We will see if it fits. My first order was through Truck and Gear .
I've had a company advise me to essentially destroy a product to initiate a return before. I told them either send a replacement or don't and their request was ridiculous. They sent a replacement.

They do this in the hopes you will avoid selling the initial one. It's a shitty customer service tactic. Tell them to pound sand and send the replacement and that you are willing to ship the new one back if they provide a shipping label for it. Also why I buy stuff like this on Amazon - it's a no question return. Mark it as defective, throw it back in the box, done (defective returns override the potential charge on return shipping that Amazon tries to apply sometimes randomly).

Anyways... All did for mine was drill a new hole then it worked fine. I knew what to expect thanks to the reports on this forum. Pretty crappy customer service and quality from AVS though - that much I have to agree on. They clearly have no intention on fixing this issue as they probably produced so many early on that any newer ones would be totally random grabs from places that supply them. It's not like perishable stock where backstock gets rotated lol. Throw that crap on top and keep selling it.

But overall - not that big of a deal to me. It's plastic so it was a 5 minute fix and like I said, I knew what to expect. Grease pen, mark the correct location, drill, done.

And yes, I've returned one previously for a different truck that was scratched. It came unwrapped in the box for some reason. But even the wrapped ones I have gotten had minor scratches as well. There truly is no winning there. Obviously if it's really bad then return it - but expect scuffs. It's shiny cheap plastic. The matte ones seem to not have this issue as much - same goes for the window deflectors.

As a minor update to my previous post in this thread back on Nov 4th, 2023, AVS still hasn’t responded to my emailed inquiry (sent TWO now). VERY disappointed! Additionally, member “3D Pro” mentions above in this thread another problem I hadn’t checked for yet—the outer wings hitting the front corners of the fenders. I just checked mine, and it hits both sides too! Good thing I didn’t get the fasteners to work, or I’d of likely closed the hood snd scratched up my freshly ceramic’d paint. This isn’t a matter of sliding the shield around either. There is no slop. It either sits tight where it is, or it isn’t installed.

As previously I posted that I had a negative experience with avs customer service . I personally wouldn't buy another product from them . unfortunately I had already modified my bugflector to fit otherwise I would have sent it back . I was missing grommets that avs never sent . purchased grommets on Amazon .

I think the clear dots ARE necessry.
I installed mine on the backside of the deflector as some other folks have done.
I'm heading to Lowes tomorrow to get some more dots as the deflector has quite a bit of flex where it overhangs the fenders.
I am adding more dots in those areas for additional protection of the paint.

For what it's worth..., I just installed one of these that I ordered from AutoZone, which was drop-shipped from AVS in early June, 2024. They seem to have resolved all the previous problems with hole alignment and interference on the fenders. Mine fit well. I don't think the suplied fasteners are great and may look for something that I feel a bit better about. With a 20% online coupon I got it for $50.39 plus taxes. Free shipping!

I purchased and installed the AVS Deflector about a month ago. For me, the installation went well, maybe 1 hour using 5he original retainers. No alignment issues at all.
