Uh, maybe the sediment settled at the bottom of the filter, something caused the bypass valve to open, and the sediment (which, if settled at the bottom of the filter, would be sitting right in front of the bypass valve) made its way "back inside?"Good call as far as changing the oil. Question is why weren't the shavings caught in the oil filter?
