I heard about the rust issues on the Tacoma. Makes me glad I live in a dry climate. I know everyone can produce a lemon. I don't think that the Maverick is a bad vehicle I wish everyone here success and a long living experience. My gripe is with Fords handling of it.
One thing I learned after buying the MAV is the added long term cost of any hybrid with the exception of the Prius is it will cost more to own in the lont term over just buying the same model in a non hybrid. Even with the prius owners they have to own and drive the car a lot to show a long term...
The steering wheel was the least of my issues, I do live in a cold climate and one of the reasons I ordered it with the LUX package was for the heated features. And no disrespect from me either, I am very adept in mechanical knowledge. If a vehicle makes a reverberating clunk in the front end it...
I had a 96 rav it rode fine. It did have truck tires on it but I never noticed it being particularly rough. If it was I must have assumed that was the "utility" in sport utility.
I will, although I may not be the best example for you. I tend to set my cruise at 60 and sit in the slow lane. I tend to get very good mileage. Like with my Mav I got 39 in the winter and 38 in the summer. All of which were freeway miles.
I had a B2000 back in the day. I paid 3k for it with 100k on the odometer. I put 300k more on it and sold it for 3k. Trucks in my area always sell for a lot. Those old rotary engines were bullet proof.
I found a 2019 with 27k on the clock one owner for $27k Its a well optioned Adventure model so I can finally tow My tent trailer again, just need to add trailer brakes to it.
Mine would keep doing it like it was switching back and forth and it wouldn't stop till I pulled over and shut it off then re-start it. Never threw a code though.
I completely agree that my experience with the Mav puts me in the unfortunate minority. There is good and bad in all brands. My choice to leave Ford isn't because I had one bad apple, it is the way they handled it. This forum has been great and helpful. And Honestly all of my interactions with...
I couldn't agree more, The thing that helped me keep my sanity is they could hear the knocking. Ford could have extended my warranty and that might have made me rethink that.
I can appreciate that, Thanks. And yeah We do get emotional. For me I see buying a new car as a treat, Something special. My Mom only ever bought one new car her entire life. I have bought several, I treat them with kid gloves, do every maintenance, wash every weekend, etc. I have only ever had...
I just cant see getting into a Tacoma because of the fuel economy. So I chose a non hybrid Rav 4 adventure it gets 33 hwy which is close enough for me to my MAV that got between 38 and 39. Overall I feel that for long term ownership a hybrid doesn't make since for me unless gas gets to over $6...
Well now its my turn, My issues were this... I have a clunking noise in the front end at low speed. Five times they have said they couldn't replicate the issue. Except for once they said it was normal strut noise. Also in these five trips to the service department I told them about a surging...
Mine does that periodically and the dealership can't find the problem because there are no codes and it doesn't do it for them. Happens when I am coming to a stop. then at a stop it just keeps switching back and forth and when it hits electric mode it tries to lunge forward through the brakes I...
my insurance was $1200 for full coverage two years ago on an 09 accord then I got a divorce and added my MAV. went to $1700 now for 2024 its nor $2100. I drive 30k a year and I'm sure living in California isn't helping. I figure with her gone I'm still way ahead.
