How to add the new Firmware update to your Maverick

How did you get your screen to remain black?

This is wierd, when i try this and get to checking the version my screen looks nothing like this.
I do not see anything at the top that mentions Ford Audio.

any ideas why?

Appreciate the tutorial; I went ahead and did the same thing but no matter how many times I tried to scan for the update, it wouldn't show up Any ideas what I can do? I tried using my hotspot and reset it plenty of times now but absolutely nothing at all.

I believe you have a whole different infotainment system then us XL and XLT owners. You probably have SYNC 3

I tried downloading via wi-fi but it was taking way too (20 minutes to download only to 30%...boo). I downloaded the update from Ford's website (took only 1 minute) and extracted the files to a flash drive. I plugged it into the Mav's USB port and took only 10 minutes to update and reboot.

This update did fix one problem for me...now the radio's info on the display on the song/artist updates within 5 seconds instead of taking 45 seconds.

Which version are talking about, and when was it released?

Well not sure if the update alone improved CarPlay as I bought a good quality cable same day I upgraded but CarPlay loads consistently fast now and no drop outs for about 5 days now. I would say so far so good.

Nice! I haven't noticed that. I've been strictly on AM talk radio (same station ever since). I will have to switch it up next time I'm driving.

I have the 23 base Lariat so no Sync 3.
