So to the maverick owners out there who've had the dashboard rattle come up, you'll know it's one of those things that's not a major issue, but it's still annoying. It's recently become more pronounced on our maverick, I know there's a TSB for this, is it worth doing for people who've done it?

I've heard some say it got rid of it, some say there wasn't a huge difference, and some say it made it worse, but I'm just looking for a general consensus.

Many having the rattle, simply added a thin strip of foam tape, between the right side a-pillar and speaker cover. I used a strip of thick felt, rattle gone.

I have not personally had this problem with my Mav. There may be a TBS for this; I do not know. There is a 31 page thread that covers a lot of this and one or two easy to try solutions that have worked in some cases. Do an advanced search with "dash rattle" as subject. May or may not help...............

Edit: One of the solutions described was just mentioned by last poster.

Yeah, that's the first thought that came to mind as well. It's just those monster threads can be a chore to sift through, and at times, don't include the latest developments and insights on how to address the issue.

I did have the problem. It was loud enough, frequent enough, and annoying enough to take it to the dealer. Just not acceptable on a new vehicle. I tried all the tricks noted in the forum and nothing worked. The dealer needed it for four days as they have to remove the entire dash. I was concerned they might do more damage than it was worth.

My dealer said they have a Serenity kit to address this. It consists of some buffers they put between the dash and window (the kit is made by Serenity). When I picked it up the inside was still pristine. You would never have known they did anything. And the rattle was just as bad as before. The option was ti give it to them for another four days. I passed. I have since traded it in for a variety of other reasons so it never was resolved.

My specific rattle goes away if i press/apply pressure on the climate control cluster. Or to the left lower section of the dash below it. Leading me to believe its coming from this area. Im going to be removing everything and adding deadner to this cheap interior.

I doubt dealers have the knowledge to fix this issue. As its a fairly new car with fairly new issues. Or they just dont care :(.

It's more like I doubt dealer technicians getting paid terrible warranty flat rate time to chase down a rattle even care enough. They will most likely break other clips and misplace screws and you'll wind up with three more rattles in place of the one rattle they might have fixed.

I've tried to fix it several times but realize it's a truck, it rattled, it still rattles, it's a truck, trucks rattle, I didn't pay for a Lincoln or a Caddy, rattles at low speed, goes away eventually when dash heats up, maybe Turd will fix it, maybe not. Still like my Maverick that rattles, hope Toyota makes a compact hybrid truck that is comparable, may consider trading then but I'm not holding my breath.

Toyotas make more interior noise than this does. Toyota said a few days ago that they haven't even started to develop a maverick rival. That means in the off chance Toyota even develops a scout, by the time it's released, we're already gonna have a second gen maverick. Toyotas current trucks can't even match the quality/reliablity or appeal of the current maverick.

There are so many people with the new Tundras having to replace or repair engines on brand new trucks, and the Tacoma has a below average reliability rating according to CR. Toyota reliability isn't that good. The only reason to buy a Toyota is reliability, and they lost that, so even if they made a scout or something, the maverick is better.

The issue could very well be the windshield alignment pucks hitting the metal of the body. The dealer realigned my windshield after talking to Ford.

That rattle is relatively easy (yay for that!). The windshield one is a bit more complex unfortunately.
