I am right at 36,000 miles in my 2024 Maverick hybrid. The estimate I was given was almost $150 per month for the next 30 months. I don't mind paying for insurance for vehicles or property, and that's the way I'm looking at this.

Any thoughts?

$4500 for an extended warranty? That is a lot.
The extended warranties are available in many different lengths and miles, so if you buy one, you need to try to match it to the length/miles that are applicable. A 10 year warranty for up to 175000 miles wouldn't be suitable for me, since I'm not likely to drive my Maverick anywhere close to that many miles.
I paid about $1400 last year for my 1 month old Maverick. But it was only for 60,000 miles and 8 years.
But they are cheaper when purchased in the first year.

After I made that post, I contacted my credit union. That's where I got the loan for the truck.

The credit union explained they had to refinance my truck and include the extended warranty. It was 3% points lower and when I include the extended warranty with the regular payment, I'm saving about $80 a month 🤪

So you are correct! Shop for extended warranties

Unless the extended warranty covers the 12v battery, then do not get it. Since the battery is strangely considered to be a wear item like tires and oil, I know of no warranty that would cover it. The only other thing that people claim is halfshafts, and the Hybrid is a lot easier on them than the EcoBboost. So, no, don't get an extended warranty. It's a waste of money.

UPDATE
After I got that pricey quote from Ford, I decided to check with my credit union. That's who I find it truck with.

Order from me to buy the extended warranty program through them, I had to refinance my truck and add that to the loan. The representative did little research and my interest was cut by 3% points because I had so much equity in the vehicle.

The new monthly payment is actually about $60 less per month and, it includes the extended warranty program.

Keep this in mind if you are in a similar position

No extended warranty on my 2022.

Engine was replaced for free at 40,000 miles by Ford under CSP.

Half shaft replacement is covered for 150,000 mi or 10 years.

Heat exchanger replacement is covered for 100,000 miles I believe.

Here is how I looked at it. Maverick and Ford have had issues, so I wanted to protect myself. Also, I don't plan on buying another vehicle, so I will be keeping it over 10 years. My extended warranty is extended further by my dealer for no charge. If for some reason I sell it, the warranty goes with it. At 73, I doubt I would buy another one in my eighties.

It too bad Florida and California won't allow GRANGER to sell Ford's ESP warranties in their states.
Grainger sells the Ford ESP warranties very little over cost. Something like $25-$50 over cost.
Something important to remember.
A Ford ESP warranty is never going to be as cheap, as it is when you first buy your Maverick.

Are extended warranties worth it?
That comes down to personal preference and opinion.

Yes to some, no to others.
