Cerakote permanently bonds to your plastic, is a one shot application, and doesn't need re-applied like 303 does. Also, fwiw, about every other car wash, which I do by hand, I'm applying 303 to exterior black, and interior plastic. Lots easier to apply and deal with then the cerakote, which as I said is a bit of a chore.
The product isn't cheap, the labor (prep, application, drying) is probably worth every bit of that $80/hr.This detailer charges that product at 80 bucks an hour. Thinks it will take an hour for the Forrester. Says it needs to dry for a day before pickup. Very clean air conditioned shop. Had a C8 in there he was ceramic coating. He also said it's good for 300 washes but he includes rain in that.
Got the idea from someone on WranglerForum -- received my Jeep in Oct/2010 and theA paint additive? Really?
I will need to try this. So far I don’t have a problem. I have the 303 solvent.. I use it on the bike and boat trailer tires. It is supposed to prevent dry rot of the rubber. Not that anyone else will care but the 303 works great on fly lines.Yessir! Cerakote is the best, and Ford MIC plastics take it very well.
My advice - use dawn soap and a blue scrubber pad to wash and scrub the bumper covers. Only apply in low humidity and only 1 coat every 24 hours. If you apply a second coat too soon it will trap the first coat before it cures and cause white spots and streaking.
NopeWe have had our maverick 4 months.the black plastic bumper covers appear to be fading (turning grey). I assume this is from the sun.anyone else notice this?
I don't have the time right now and my Tremor is garage stored both home and office so I shouldn't see too much discoloration.I will need to try this. So far I don’t have a problem. One reason they've probably embraced it is because it's guaranteed to make any vehicle that's not garaged look old in a few years. Same with the headlight lenses. There are tons of vehicles that would still look almost-new if they didn't have all these exterior plastic pieces turning into an ugly haze in the sun. Guaranteed obsolescence.I'm not sure what caused this phenomenon among car manufactures to embrace all this cheap plastic cladding...
I 2nd this ... been using this stuff on paint, plastic, glass, for about 6 months now (probably applied 3-4 times total) and my truck still looks brand new. Before I took delivery on my maverick I watched so many videos on youtube comparing different car washes, spray waxes, and protectants and this one seemed like the best bang for your buck and it has not disapointed yet. I did apply it within like the first week of owning the truck and I do wash my truck about every other week too which probably helps keep everything looking new. This is what I put on my entire vehicle. Black plastic looks like new afterwards. You can get it at Walmart for about $15.

Some of us have other hobbies besides or maverick. I like fly fishing too but usually only for blue gills. Never heard of 303 for fly lines though. What does it do? Help it float better?I will need to try this. So far I don’t have a problem. I have the 303 solvent.. I use it on the bike and boat trailer tires. It is supposed to prevent dry rot of the rubber. I just picked up some at Walmart today, interested enough to give it a try after so many mentions here.I 2nd this ... been using this stuff on paint, plastic, glass, for about 6 months now (probably applied 3-4 times total) and my truck still looks brand new.
