Hey everyone, I dont think this has been posted yet, but if not and this isnt the right area to post this, please move it to where it needs to go. Otherwise I hope that his 80k miles with tranny issues are a fluke and not something that will be happening to all of us.

80,000 miles in one year, kept driving it thousands of miles when he knew there were some issues, looks of his truck he doesn't do maintenance. And he's hoping Ford will replace it under warranty. I'm not worried and no one should be concerned over one report. Every manufacturer has a small percentage of mechanical failures so if an occasional report concerns you you won't be buying any vehicle.

Exactly and notice he never once bothered to check or show the condition of the tranny fluid. That is the first and easiest thing to check.

80,000 miles in a year to 2 years is also considered severe duty and as such that maintenence schedule should be followed which in this case if knucklehead here actually read the book he should have already changed the tranny fluid twice by now at every 30,000 miles.

I'm going to be honest. My oldest kid is only a sophomore in high school and I'll likely have my grandkids in the truck when it rolls over 80,000.

And you also won't have put the truck under the same severe driving and most likely without following the proper maintanence. I seriously doubt this kid's truck is the rule and more like the exception because of how he used it.

Watching the video, I'm pretty sure he admits to not doing any trans services yet. Which like stated above, he should have already done two. 80k miles in one year is extremely heavy duty. I've had my Supra for 3 years and have just barely hit 18k, so I'm thinking I'll hit 80k with the Mav in 10-12 years. I'm chalking up his trans issues to lack of maintenance.

I completely agree about doing maintenance on it frequently especially if using it a lot. It looks like Ford is stating every 30k miles or so to flush it...but doesn't that seem way too frequent? Every 3rd-6th oil change, to flush the tranny?

I have been taking my 09 escape to the dealer for the average ~5k oil changes since I got it in 2011, and only once in 200k miles did they recommend a flush (and I had it done). And currently I am at/over 100k since that tranny flush and it seems to be running fine.

The only issue I have is the center bearing(drive shaft)/u joint are starting to go now tho. And they gave me a $2k quote to replace/fix the vibration/issue. Seeing my Mav is scheduled to be built in a couple weeks, I said no thank you and that I would baby my escape till the maverick arrives.

I've been following his channel for a while and he's not afraid to enjoy life with the Maverick. I hope the best for him, he seems like a nice young man.

I have watched some of his videos. He is pretty rough on his truck. I believe he tries to drive through some deep snow drifts. He has to get pulled out. I know its a 4wd truck but I seen some serious fast driving on trails. Maybe the Tremor is made for that but not a regular 4x4.

You are correct, he is definitely rough on his Mav, hope it all ends well for him though.

Before y'all jump on Daniel here. Whether or not he got all the proper maintenance done. He is one of the first guys to make videos of what the Maverick is and can do. He has put a ton of miles on it as a travelling Native American performer. He has also tested it to it's limits several times offroading on snow hills with Tacos and testing it in deep highway snow to the point of failure. Also recovering people several times with it. Whether or not he is on this forum, the dude is a REAL Maverick, and had delivered much information about the Ecoboost AWD trucks to us from the very beginning. I would consider him to be a Maverick legend up there with some of our race truck builders and dealership spokesperson/guides.

This result is of a maximum endurance of the Maverick platform.

The ecoboost is rated at 277 ft/lbs of tourque. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the transmission is rated for 250 ft/lbs. I would assume that means if you're constantly hammering on the throttle, you will eventually break the transmission.

Yeah he may be a good example for all the wrong reasons that the Maverick truck is more robust than anyone thought especially if it turns out his problem is nothing more than dirty tranny fluid that still doesn't excuse lack of due diligence and negligence in doing some simple maintenence to front run these issues. I'd take him seriously if he did and still had the same issue.
