IF Ford could build more than 11 of them and not have to recall them all. 🤷‍♂️

Much higher fuel prices and shortages coming up soon.

I imagine my little hybrid truck will get a lot more attention and questions than it has thus far.

Carbon dioxide is one thing, the thousands of chemicals burned and released into the air is a whole other discussion, along with spillage. We use nearly as much electricity refining gasoline than the energy used from it. Never mind exploration, drilling, pumping, transporting, and storing. Simple reason why hybrids always get better efficiency because it’s a very low starting point.

That's hardly a settled debate. Despite what the UN, WEF, Greta, and the mainstream media will tell you, there isn't scientific consensus regarding the effects of increasing carbon dioxide emissions on the environment overall. Certainly increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere isn't a positive thing, but it's not entirely clear how bad it is.

I am all about being a good steward of the environment, which starts with using as little (of anything) as you need (unlike most of the climate alarmist hypocrites), but we simply don't know all that much about this stuff.

Don't feel bad. I had a Hybrid Escape and the best I usually got was 34-36 in winter with 39-40 in summer. And I don't have a heavy foot... it's just the terrain and location. I could probably squeeze 50 out of a prius... but it's not the vehicle I need.

The EB Mavericks is my favorite vehicle too. I think FORD knows if they were to make an AWD/4WD hybrid they would not be able to keep up and they are just pushing their cheaper to make stuff, which is still ICE related.

Also why I find these threads so funny. Like every location experiences the same thing. FWD without studded snows wouldn't even make it up my driveway for over half the year.
Prius is now rated over 50mpg. Most could squeeze over 60 out of one. Just like it's easy to squeeze over 50 out of a Maverick hybrid.

I have never hypermiled. I always use normal or sport. That's just how that short trip to the store was.. I have never once said I'm going to see how my mpg I can get today.

I get that without trying...on a 107° day....while driving like a bat outta hell...in city traffic.

I love my hybrid, thank you.
You don’t unless you live in a California city where fuel is expensive and I seen so many trucks on the road wasting hella gas and time carry all they you carried and some. Problem here is traffic congestion. Soon as you live your neighbor to het and log in so highway miles. You get this all up and down the state. Unless you hit a boondocks town off the grid.

I drive 40 miles a day, 5 days a week to work and back, I have to fill up my hybrid every two weeks. I track my mpg between oil changes and at 3200 miles so far I'm averaging 50mpg.. It has plenty of power to climb a 7% uphill grade for 20 miles with the cruise set at 65. Yea it can't pull much but the Eco boost still can't pull 1 ton mini Excavator, you buy a Ranger for that.

I do. I commute 80 miles a day in the WNC mountains. My '14 Volt usually made it eaxh way charging at each end, but being an orphan car I can no longer get dealer support. Knowing it would die and stay dead I needed something that got better mileage than my '07 Tacoma.

I am getting 47mpg on my commute (less than 2 gallons a day). That is better than the 27mpg the Tacoma gets. Whe. I cruise around in North Georgia I get 50mpg+.

I want this to be the last vehicle I ever buy. Fingers crossed.

Exactly. I drive close to 3k miles a month in my hybrid and have yet to get under 40mpg. And that is with a ton of highway driving. I love filling up and seeing 600 miles of range. The Ecoboost would be fun, but I absolutely love the mpgs and under $40 to fill up.

Great mileage. Currently I'm averaging 31.5 mpg for the last 650 miles and that includes both highway and around town as well as about 60 miles pulling a trailer. Of course hybrids do better but what I lose in MPG I make up for with AWD, the 4K tow and independent rear suspension.

Yea, my lifetime average is right about 30 mixed suburban driving, sometimes loaded to payload max. Just ordered a 2024 AWD to help with the heavier lifting.

Its funny, us Hybrid people aren’t jealous of the other power plant option as some of you EB people seem to be.

If all Ford offered was an EB, and never offered a hybrid, I probably would have bought one and been very happy. It would still be a smaller truck than anything else and would get much better mpg than the mid sized trucks.

Can’t understand why some of you don’t seem satisfied with yours, and, are so dissatisfied with our hybrids.

Of course, when gas price and availability becomes a problem, the bragging rights will be completely one sided.

But until then….

I still say the hybrid is a truck for cheap fellows like me who do under 55 mph driving around small towns. If you’re highway driving maybe the ice is a better choice. You can’t beat 46 mpg with gas now being $3.75. And it’s a real truck!

I ordered a Maverick (will be built week of Sept 18 - fingers crossed) because it is a hybrid. I was hoping to replace one of my old beaters and our 12 year old minivan with one much more fuel efficient vehicle vehicle, hence the cargo bed. However, sInce then, my wife has decided she doesn't want to get rid of the minivan.

Based upon my plans being changed by my wife, If the hybrid powertrain was not available, I would have bought something else - maybe a Corolla hybrid.

Most of the comparisons are with EVs but since hybrids are somewhere "in between" I would guess the lifetime emissions would similarly land in the middle of the two.
