On Ford's latest earnings call on July 27th, Farley said:

10% of all F-150s and 56% of all Mavericks sold in the U.S. are sold as hybrids. We are adding hybrid options across our ICE line-up, and we expect to quadruple our hybrid sales in the next five years, and we're already number two in the market last year.

Looks like Ford will be making a big hybrid push and adding hybrid options to other lineups.

How is that possible if hybrids are only a third of production?
That's my question.

Fuzzy math?
🤔

Probably for 1 month that was true.
Distributing a stockpile of embargoed maverick hybrids.

The 35% Hybrid constraint started for MY23 orders and jumped to 50% over the last few months.

MY22 Hybrid never really had a percent constraint number. They were hard to get late in the MY22 build cycle and those rolled over to MY23 but a lot of Hybrid Mavericks were built in MY22.

I was one of the first Hybrid builds as mine was built on 11/29/2021.

MY22 was listed at around 35% as well, for most of the production time, with a plan for 40% of production to be hybrids. I believe in the end Ford only hit 35%.

I do not recall seeing the hard number of 35% being listed on constraint lists for MY22 just that it was hard to get Hybrid builds late in the MY22 build cycle.

Please post links and/or snapshots of the earliest "hard number of 35%" constraint for MY22 Hybrid builds.

Interesting that Ford had a leadership position in FWD hybrids, with the Escape, C-Max, Fusion, and Corsair, and they more or less pushed it aside for EVs. Now it’s back as a strategy centrepiece.

Things move fast in the current automobile manufacturing environment.

The current plan for hybrid Mavericks for '24 is still 35%. This is also based on more production for the '24's. Maybe we will see an actual ability for Ford to go way beyond the 35% now that Ford is officially refocusing on hybrids.

I ran the math on multiple threads a while back and it's very easy to figure out that for the past couple years, Hybrids only account for around 30% of the total Mavericks produced. There are numerous threads here with the exact numbers produced so far year to date but I can't find anything specifically for this year to confirm these statements.

A little math goes a long way. Maybe 56% of orders placed, but certainly not completed sales or Mavericks produced unless something major changed in the past 6 months. In that whole statement, there is nothing to even confirm those percentages.

I think Jim is just making :poop: up. It could change but I highly doubt the jump from 30ish to above 50 all the sudden in half a year. If that's the case, we'll be back to surplus on the lots by 2025. I'll believe it when I see the actual numbers... not made up numbers Jim jotted down on index cards (or his assistants did anyways) for an interview to gas his company up. Anything can happen in the next two quarters.

I do recall seeing constraint posts here during MY22, similar to the ones that get posted now, but cannot find them with the search function. Either that or my memory is playing tricks on me, which is fully possible.

The MTC is not the entire Maverick world.

Someone posted that MTC only represents 1% of all Maverick orders.

So your math is missing 99% of the data.

The last couple scheduling's were about 80% Hybrid. Hybrid hasn't been 1/3 of production in some time.

The math for total production numbers? lol. No.

Like I said, it can change but almost 30% in a 6 months? C'mon man. If that's a factual percentage, I'd still have to see current production numbers from this year to believe it and again, it can fluctuate up or down in the next 6 months.

Ford revised those numbers to 50% Hybrid for 2023. They have really been building a lot of them.
