Keypad delete is a huge disappointment. I surf most days and it's a real pleasure to leave the keys in the truck while I'm out in the water. One of the most used and favorite functions on my MAV.
I know quite a few people that use their Ford keypad the same way. I can't bring myself to leave the keys in the truck, but I don't go any place that it would be convenient for me to do so. But I do use it to lock the truck every time instead of the keyfob.

Talk about making it easy for someone to steal your new truck! The RF amplifier is $180 on Amazon and every thief owns one today. At least lock the keyfob away in a safe somewhere and make sure its in a Faraday cage wallet or some other RF-blocking container.

Thank you for that information. Instinctually I knew this was a bad idea but now I know why. Appreciate the insight.

You do realize that they consider the Ford Pass app a remote start right? I doubt that the XLT will get the same fob the Lariat has with true remote start.
I was just on the Ford site where you build your Maverick. The new build options are not posted yet. My sales person contacted me about getting another order ready for when my existing order gets rolled over to a 2024.

I put my fob in a Faraday bag in my Mav when I am kayaking. I do it because the hybrid Mav seems to wake up when the key fob is near? Also says in the owners manual not to leave fob in vehicle.

@TomD , just go to page 1 of this thread, and download the MY24 Order Guide. It gives you all the info you need.

Ok so I am doing the math on this, please correct me if I have these figures wrong. If the ecoboost gets 25 MPG and the Hybrid gets 40 MPG and if gas is $4/gal then your ROI would be around the 20K miles. And of course this is only factoring in the cost of gas.
The F150 Powerboost I bought last year for a survey crew will likely pay for itself ($3,500 option) based on brakes alone. The truck is basically always maxed out, and my experience with both Ford and Chevy full size trucks is $1,000 a year in brakes, about every 20,000 miles, no brakes needed yet. The powerboost has 35,000 miles on it. Powerboost, btw, is the Ford hybrid. Getting 24 mpg by the way, last Silverado, a 2015, got 16 at best.

I think the hybrid Mav will payoff at $1,500.

So basically they are making the maverick less desirable, increasing prices by 40% of it's original price in 2021, and removing options. It's a good move to slow down demand on Ford's part.

It is certainly causing me to look at other options

Leif Johnson Ford in Austin reached out to me today to confirm my 2023 rollover order to a 24 Lariat Hybrid. The only change will be switching the color to Terrain in place of Area 51. It will more closely match our desert sand color motorhome when flat towed. Pricing will be about the same from the loaded 23 build.

Dammit! The one option I wanted was the 400W inverter. Now I can't get that,
AND I can't get my XL in Carbonized Gray.
Yup. That was my 2023 order last Sept that I'm having to reorder.

The inverter is nice for all sortsa little things you don't have a 12v charger for.
And I loved that color (that's approx my current RAM color).

Drat.

@fordvideoguy (or anyone else who can help) when ordering the 2024 XLT Hybrid what codes do I need to give to the dealer?

The 2024 Order Guide and the Price Sheet have me confused as the Order Guide shows:

SuperCrew® FWD with code: W8H
and
2.5L Hybrid (FWD Only) w/ Automatic Continuously Variable Transmission with codes: 993/445

Whereas the 2024 Price Sheet shows:

XLT Crew Cab FWD (300A) with code: W8H
and
2.5L Hybrid (FWD Only) w/ Automatic Continuously Variable Transmission with codes: 993

So my question is what exact code(s) do I give my dealer for them to place my order for a MY24 XLT Maverick Hybrid?

Which of the following code(s) should I give to the dealer?

W8H + 993/445
or 993/445
or only 993

Also I cannot find any reference to what the 445 means in the Order Guide as it is not shown in the Price Sheet.

This is what I already sent to the dealer:

MY 2024 Order Sheet

XLT Maverick Hybrid in Atlas Blue Metallic
W8H XLT Crew Cab FWD (300A)
993 2.5L Hybrid (FWD Only) This also includes option 51D Full Size Spare Tire
60B Trailer Hitch Receiver
86B Ford Co-Pilot 360
153 Front License Plate Bracket (Ford no longer includes this on orders and has to be added for Texas)

Was what I sent to the dealer okay or do I need to contact them again with additional codes?

Thanks
You don't need to know all the codes, just tell them what packages and options you want.

Yes Lonnie, it's kind of like shrinkflation, getting half the candy bar for double the price.

Dude....

WTF are you doing to your brakes?
Mine always 80,000 to 100,000 in conventional vehicles. 200,000+ in hybrids.
