Would it be a good idea to drop the Hybrid for the 2.0 Eco Boost after receiving the update from Ford. And after they said that I should order a my24 in case the my23 hybrid doesn’t make the cut for production? I’m retired and got a little scared by some of the problems with hybrid. Plus I won’t be driving more than 10,000 miles a year.

I wouldn't worry about the Hybrid reliability. The issues get overblown on this forum, and are largely fixed with the 2023s

The ecoboost DOES increase your chances to get built, just because Ford has higher capacity for building them. Personally I'd hold onto my Hybrid order for 2023 and reorder for 2024 with an Ecoboost if you're okay with the reduced gas mileage

The Escapes are having the same issue. It's why I got rid of mine. Never trusted that setup from it's battery issues, to the engine issues, to the many other recalls/TSB's. It's not being blown out of proportion - there is a recall telling people to literally stop driving these vehicles because they grenade themselves. That said - lots of issues on the entire platform including the Bronco, Maverick and Escape. Their legal wording is like a slap in the face to Hybrid owners and they have every right to trust their gut after a massive company issues such a recall.

They have not solved it in 2023's. Do you have a source of information that says they have? Because a "stop sales" order would indicate otherwise. They haven't even solved the deep sleep issue for the Mavericks yet. There are like 5 different reasons it happens. I must have missed something if they solved it, or the many it's.

I actually just got my letter in the mail today for the Escape lol. Threw it away the same way I did with that entire setup. I actually really liked the setup/car too, overall. But no way I'd keep it beyond the initial warranty and finding out about these issues, I wanted out ASAP.

Personally, I think they best advice you will get it to wait a couple more years, if you can. FORD has a lot on their plate right now with these issues. Let them work the kinks out. Or they do what they do best and abandon it for something else because that's cheaper. That said, if you want in a Maverick - for sure, I'd buy an Ecoboost. Because that's exactly the reason why I did. Loved the MPG in the hybrid and the CVT in it just ran relentlessly - actually pretty crazy how great it felt - but never trusted it one bit and it seems my gut instinct to run from it paid off.

If you want a Hybrid - buy a Toyota.

Keep your current order and order the EB as well.
Let the chips fall where they may.

Agree with others, smart money is hold onto the hybrid order and put one in for EB. Hybrid for '24 is an automatic $1500 up-charge, just for that option.

BTW, when I placed my order I told my dealer, "Just get it to me before I retire," which was over a year away at the time. I'm also going to put less than 10k miles on one a year, even with some retirement travel planned. But I've driven a CMAX for work for the last five years or so, and it's been absolutely flawless in performance and care. I realize the MAV has a slightly different version of that hybrid, but still... I have no qualms, even given all the posts here about problems. I'm fingers-crossed that by the time mine is built later this month, Ford has their hands around the big issues that have cropped up, at least it seems that way based on the "end dates" of the existing recalls and advisories. Worst case scenario: in retirement, I'll have more time to camp out at my Ford dealer to wait on a repair. :ROFLMAO:;)

With the added charge for hybrids next year, your '23 is gonna be the last of the affordable ones. Hold onto it.

Both engines are good. I think that overall the hybrid makes the most sense and it’s a delight to drive.

With the private offer on the hybrid ordered, rolling over to an EB should net a $1500 deduction. This and base price protection should add up to an about $2950 total lower price on an XLT from its sticker.

.... personally, I would take the Ecoboost! I've got it in my '22 XL , 33500 miles so far, no problems at all . 31 mpg . Old school gas engine, just sayin .

Ima geezer, retired, and went with an ecoboost FWD. In GA don't need nor want the AWD complexity and slight mpg hit. I have done pretty well freeway trips, getting 39.x mpg on the last, and about 27 in town.
A hybrid would likely save me $$ over time, but my days of racking up the miles are over. I'll pay the slight fuel penalty, and enjoy the fun factor of having more hp than in anything prior, while still beating them all in fuel usage. After 18 months, I have just over 2000 miles on the odometer.
If you want one of these before you slip on that banana peel next to that 6' hole... go ecoboost and have some fun. Some of us are too old to wait for 'most desired' and will settle for 'a lotta fun'. eh?

See, i have a 2023 Hybrid that is NOT affected by the recall. In fact, most of the 2023s weren't affected by it. Nor are the same engines built in the Europe plant for the Kuga.

So yeah, I feel pretty confident in it.
