$100 for a pair of Studs and threaded tube that will just weaken the strength of the shock? That's CRAZY.
See everything above your comment.

1. Overhead/ Cost of goods, quality costs money
2. 18-8 Stainless steel/ Grade-8 hardware
3. It doesn't weaken the shock at all as there is no lateral force exerted on the shock.

Guy is in here offering an option for a market that has yet to produce an adequate budget minded shock for those that lift their truck and gets flack.

Is $100 a lot of money? Not really. Is it cheaper than the full coil over kit that gets into the thousands quickly? Definitely.

If I'm wrong, so be it. If anyone would care to share a cheaper alterative that keeps getting mentioned I'd love to see it.

As a small business owner who owns and runs a custom fab business these comments are so out of line with reality it's not funny. Let's just assume this is made from 1" 304 Solid round Bar, each round blank has to be cut from stock. Let's say we charge $100.00/hrs. So each black costs $1.00 to cut. Add in raw material cost we are now a $6-7 for the blank. We now have to load it into the cnc machine. Let's say run time per part is 10 min. So that's $10.00 added on to the $6-7 per part. So we are now at $33-35 dollars for the pair. Oh, you don't want the treads to gall? Let's send parts off to be coated so are customer have a great product. That will add $7-$15 per part. So we are now at $52.00 for the pair. We recive the parts back from coating. We have to inventory them and add packing to send them to customers, so add $8-$10 per pair. We're now at $60.00. Don't forget overhead at %15 so we're now at $75.00. Oh you want the correct grade 8 hardware, add another $5. Now we're at $80.00 This is all quoted on the very low end of labor rates. So any one who questions how this part costs $100.00 needs to learn how things are made correctly in the USA. This ain't China and their shit products

I did, nothing there makes it less crazy. All other options across several brands are under $50. Stainless is nice, but these are Mavericks, not Raptors. The lengthened shaft is likely to bend before even the cheapest extension breaks. Compared to your competition, I think the price is too high. But you do you, and I'm sure you'll sell a few.
Where is the force coming from that is going to bend the shock? The end of the OEM shock rod sits inside the extender and butts up to the new threaded portion. There is no hollow spot to create a weak point.

I'm sorry we can't price these based on what a few people think is adequate price. Our pricing is based on real numbers. We aren't going to make them out of lesser materials because the Maverick is a less expensive truck than a Raptor. We don't price based on the used car market, or any other factor than cost of goods, overhead, and actual business costs.

If a cheaper alternative exists and you want to save a few bucks, by all means - buy the cheap one, I'm not going to get in your way.

Thank you!! As someone directly related, and understands that these don't just appear out of thin air, I appreciate you breaking this down. As you outlined the realistic production costs, it's very obvious I am more interested in providing a quality part to improve upon a lifted Maverick, and less interested in buying a large boat and naming it "Shock Extender."

Magically appearing out of thin air, or Chinese steel are the only way to make these cheaper. On the latter option, I'd rather not sell any than sell a questionable product.

If Maverick owners had endless wallets they probably wouldn't be buying Mavericks. Know your customers.
We have sold 17 of our $3400 full lift suspensions for Mavericks this year. We know our customers.

That just over 1 per 1,000 mavericks on the street in the US. That's awesome. Keep up the good work guys!
I agree, not everyone buys a Maverick with intention to do anything to it, so the fact we’ve sold that version (along with many of our others) seems to prove we’ve done a good job making a great product. Even Ford themselves have reached out to us with expressed interest in working with us, so I’m sure they’ve done some analytics of their customers.

I’ll give you the last word in our back and forth; but I’ll just close my end of this discussion with you on this note. Most times, it’s ok to just scroll past something you don’t agree with. Nothing bad will happen to you. Like a comedian (don’t recall his name) said, “be offended, nothing happens.” If you don’t like the price of something, don’t buy it, it’s really that easy.

If you have a spacer lift, you NEED these!
They thread onto the shock shaft to basically lengthen the rod so your shock drops the same rate as the springs. It recenters the shaft so you are in your optimal travel range after installing rear spring spacers. They are meant to go along with our level lift, but they will work with any brand. $100 to maximize the performance of your spacer lift!

How long are they?

If you run a fab shop you should be able to tell that that is not 1" bar stock. The stud is 8mm (5/16") so the bar stock is most likely what 7/16" or 1/2" bar stock? I agree that the Mr. Gasket products under $20 look like crap, and probably are junk. Point is there are plenty of good other options out there for $40-$50 a pair. If Maverick owners had endless wallets they probably wouldn't be buying Mavericks. Know your customers.
Jesus man, you really have a hard on for these parts. So take $6 off the price for 1/2 round Bar. He does know his customers and you are not it. He's in business for one reason and that is to make money. If you think it's to expensive, it's OK. We live in a capaltist society.

Dang. Seems to be a lot of experts about another man's business in here.

Go buy the material, machines, computers, training, building, insurance, etc. then design, build, and market this product and tell me you'd be cheaper and happy with your profit margin.

Sorry. No relation to OP, but as a former small business owner, this type of "market feedback" really irks me.
and don't forget the LIABILITY!

The expert assumption is we just have a part; that I guess we’re supposed to sell at the same price as everyone else regardless of materials used. It boxes itself up too.

There was a coffee shop somewhere (Toronto?) that based pricing on whatever the customer wanted to pay. They aren’t in business anymore.

The OE shaft is 25mm, so good chance they are matching the OD of the shaft. 1" bar stock turned down 0.4mm.
