I am working a Google Sheet and will post the link shortly. I am noting dealers with complaints with "Warning" in addition to the recommended dealers. There are at least 2 instances where someone made a recommendation and someone else had a bad experience.
Hi,I'm new to Forum..is your spreadsheet available yet..thank you

I assembled the information in this thread and summarized it in a Google Sheet anyone can view here:

Rather than add a dealer via a reply here... Please use this Google Form to submit a dealer to this list:

I hope people find this helpful.
That's fantastic ..thank you ..please ignore my previous question about spreadsheet availability

Please make sure you complete the Google Form after you complete the deal to let others know you recommend Jim Tidwell in Kennesaw, GA (and the salesperson who helped you). We want to reward good dealers with additional business (and warn folks away from the others).

Define "honest." My dealer honored sticker price and the low APR, didn't force me to buy any "mandatory" extras, and even charged me a very low dealer conveyance fee, but did keep my price protection money - about $1300.

Town & Country Ford - Port Arthur TX

This dealership used to be Energy Country.

Energy Country was a pretty good small town type of dealership.
It was bought out by a large dealer chain that owns dealerships (Ford, Chevy, Jeep, GMC etc..)in the Houston region.

The staff is still mostly Energy Country people and they are nice….the management are all new Town and Country people and they do not give a damn about whatever agreement I had.

I had to pay a little bit more than what I would have had to pay with Energy Country. Town and Country would only work on the price to a tolerable level if I financed in house. I agreed since I will just refinance (there is no early payoff penalty). I have a credit score over 800 and the “best” rate they could get me was 9%….screw that, I can get 5% from a local CU.

The management would ”like“ me to make at least 4 payments on the loan…..now remember there is not early payment fee…so screw them, I’m refinancing tomorrow.

The worse thing from what I can tell, anyone that orders with Town and Country in the future will likely be paying at least 5k on top of MSRP. Be damn careful if you even think about using them as they might tell you it is X, but then when you go there, it will be more….maybe a LOT more.

Screw the new owners.
I really needed this truck, otherwise I would have told them to shove it.

If you are in the SETX area, I would go to Philpott Ford as they will do MSRP with no bullshit on customer orders. Some other area dealers might too, but I don’t have any experience with them.

Right now I am seriously thinking about ordering a ‘24 at a different dealership (likely Philpott) then trading this one in. The whole deal just soured me to a degree I don’t like. Plus maybe I can get enough for my 23 in trade to more than make up for the asshat owners of Town and Country.

Hello all,

After seeing story after story of our fellow forum members being screwed over by dishonest, trashy dealers, I've decided we should put together lists of positive, honest dealership experiences. The kinds of dealerships that provide you with a decent experience, and sell you the truck you asked for at MSRP.

Hopefully this will be a helpful resource to people struggling to find a decent deal, while also rewarding the honest business practices of respectable dealerships by convincing more people to go through them.

Here's mine, the Larry H. Miller dealership located in Draper/Sandy Utah. If you live in Utah, or in the neighboring states, and are having a hard time, go through these people. No markups on customer orders, they're willing to work with you to the best of their ability.

Some context, we missed the order bank cutoff because we were told they opened in October, not September by a dealership employee, an honest mistake. We reached out to them, explaining our situation, they promised if a customer canceled their order, they'd contact us first thing.

Fast forward about a month, and we got the call. An area 51 XLT hybrid with optional extras like Co-pilot 360/BLIS. We were there within the hour. Out the door, with Utah's notoriously aggressive sales tax, it was about 28k.

This dealership chain has an excellent reputation, and they've been a joy to deal with on the several occasions we've conducted business with them in the past. If you're still searching for a maverick, these are your people.

i am totally down with this thread, those dealers that are doing right by their customers deserve our recognition and our praise and our business. also i feel its important to alert the community to the different scams out there that unscrupulous dealers are attempting to get away with. i am in northeast ohio and my dealer was AutoNation Ford in westlake ohio. there are good people over there, ask for Janet Zenko and tell 'em Rod recommended them if you dont mind. i got 2023 Lariet Hybrid @ sticker there.

Spikes Ford
Mission, TX

The Maverick is my third truck from Spike's.
(I have dealt with other dealers in this area over the years)

  • notified me the day the truck arrived
  • No "market adjustment"
  • No "required" dealer accessories
  • offered but no hard sell for an extended warranty
  • no dealer adverting decals or emblems stuck to the body. They did install a removable logo'd license plate frame
  • quickly found and applied my private offer
  • offered a reasonable trade-in for my previous truck
  • accepted the "X" plan
  • mailed me a check for $1 for an over charge shortly after picking up the truck
  • mailed me a check for $400+ for a "price protection" I was not aware of

It's up to you... I would consider this a 'recommendation' despite the fact they kept the price protection money.

I maintain a spreadsheet of good dealers and those that come with a warning. You can find the list here:

If you have attempted to purchase your retail order and walked away because of the dealer, please use the form below to file a 'Warning' for other members.
If you have purchased your retail order (or an abandoned retail order and had a good experience), please use the form below to file a 'Recommendation' for other members.

Google Form for submitting a dealer for the list: https://forms.gle/3qTg32vgqrS9wGXG8

A few statistics as of June 2, 2023:
Canada; Total Recommendations = 5
USA; Total Recommendations = 174
